I'm reposting old pics for anyone who is curious about my twist on the flexiboard/torsion bar chassis.

This was going to be my entry for the World Can Am Proxy Race but I hit a snag at the last minute. Legal front tires wouldn't fit under the front fenders! blink.gif

The side pans are .063" thick in order to add a lot or weight around the perimeter. The wheelbase and the distance from the rear wheels to the front guide pivot post was also probably too short for optimum handling.

Below is a repost of the Chappy 2G pics. Those things sticking up in the back are struts for a wing.

The original project was to be a low budget chassis for a 36D motor and was to to go under a 1964 Mercury Marauder hard body stock car. I changed my mind and switched to the Chappy 2G body which was too low for the 36D motor:

The front axle tube has been replaced with a solid independent unit and the motor mount and wing uprights have been added.

Next a few wires, a llittle bit of paint...(edit: no wires...no paint...the Pittman 6001BB is the only decent legal motor I will have for next year's Thingie Proxy Race so the 2G project is sitting at the bottom of the "things to do" bin)
