Following advice from rick1776, I tried to strengthen the main chassis of the Lancia Beta, to prevent the car from hopping and bouncing under acceleration. Strengthening the chassis would prevent lateral flex and this would allow me to remove some of the weight I added to stabilize the nose of the car. So I cut several pieces out of an old slot.it chassis that I had put aside due to a broken guide holder, and glued them in. Here is what the chassis looks like now: ![]() One needs to be careful because the interior of the body goes down deep and almost touches the chassis. There is room for these two plastic reinforcements only between the outside edge of the seats and the bottom of the doors. I used a piece of blue tack to hold the pieces in place on the body, I put two small drops of CA on the plastic pieces and I attached the body to the chassis. The pieces were glued in the correct place and when it dried I removed the body and used epoxy to secure these pieces on the chassis. The chassis seems much more rigid now. Testing was postponed due to the upcoming rally race this weekend, but if the hopping of the car is eliminated this way, allowing the removal of some of the weight added, it will certainly help the car improve its lap times. Rick said that this car, when sorted out, will leave a Capri Evo2 in its dust. I am certainly looking forward to!!!! Already started working with the BMW 3.5CSL. The M1 will probably go for a full slot.it parts throughout.
