On Sunday we ran our classic series of races. We have three classes of old time cars, and first we ran our Vintage LM class. This concists of cars raced in the world championship of makes, during the period 1965-1975. A non mag class, using only FC130 motors, supposedly includes all Fly and Spirit classic cars, but is dominated by the Slot.it Ferraris and Alfas. One racer with a lone Slotter 312PB tried to match the pace of the Italian cars with some success, but it seems that the Slot.its have the upper hand here, since NSR is not allowed in our series.

So we gathered a group of 7 racers and we ran a qualify round to divide the heats.
Results were:
1 Petros / Slotter 312PB - 7.737s
2 George / Slot.it Alfa 33T3 - 7.813s
3 Timos / Slot.it Alfa 33T3 - 7.935s
4 Maria / Slot.it Ferrari 312PB - 7.955s
5 Christine / Slot.it Alfa 33T3 - 8.155s
6 Iraklis / Slot.it Alfa 33T3 - 8.174s
7 Vasilis / Fly Ferrari 512S - DNS
Top3 would run together and bottom four would form the second heat.

It was a close battle for the lead, between George, Petros, Christine and me. The little Alfas were really suited to this track and the Slotter that Petros has built was also very fast, although a bit more difficult to drive in the outer lanes. Finally, after 20 minutes of hard racing, I took the flag, followed closely by George. Christine was about a lap behind, and only 3.5 meters away was Petros. It was a 1-2-3 victory for the Alfas!! Iraklis was next with another Alfa33, then Maria with the Slot.it 312 and Vassilis with the only Fly car, a Ferrari 512S.

4 Petros ---------> 151laps + 4.23m
5 Iraklis ---------> 145laps + 13.20m
6 Maria ----------> 134laps + 8.52m
7 Vasilis ---------> 132laps + 20.09m

It is obvious that this class has developed into a Slot.it (with a little Slotter flavour) Cup. It seems that it would be extremely difficult for any other brand, to match or surpass the Slot.it cars, given the existing set of rules. We will see how it goes on the future.
