On Sunday 30/9 we started our new LMP/GT1/GrC championship with a race at our new track. A 4 lane SCX track with a twisty and challenging layout set up at Creative Hobby's headquarters. A race format of 2 rounds, 5 min heats on each lane for every competitor. Unfortunately, not many people showed up, mostly due to the fact that it is a new track, preparations where done until recently, not everyone had a chance to come, see and practice and nice weather in Greece usually send people to the beaches instead of slot tracks . Anyway, only 7 racers showed up. Cars are lined up according to last years championship standings and here they are:

Top line: Alexis' Slotter ZYTEK, Neoptolemos' Spirit Dallara (Alexis son), Petros (petkoul) Fly GT1 Evo3, My Avant slot R10
Bottom line: Maria's slot.it Nissan, George's SCX Audi R8 Pro and Thomas' Slot.it Porsche 962.

Despite the low number of participants, racing was very competitive and driving was of much higher level than last year.
Alexis with his Zytek showed the fastest and steadiest pace, had the fewest deslots I have ever seen in a race like this from anyone, and finally won the race by a significant margin. I tried hard with a car that I got in my hands only 2 days before the race and faced several youth problems (wrong gearing, guide sticking on the body etc...), so 2nd place for me was a good result. 3rd place for Neoptolemos, who didn't do very well on his 1st round but came back on his 2nd and covered 2 places up the standings. 4th for my bro Petros who faced deslotting problems combined with bad marshalling that cost him time and hindered his pace. 5th for Maria who drove a steady race, few deslots, took a rythm that suited her nicely and was very close to the 2 guys in front of her. 6th for George and 7th for Thomas, the 2 rookies who seemed to enjoy playing together and competing with each other while adapting to this format of racing.
Fastest lap of the race by my Audi R10 in the inside lane, it was 8.329sec, but fastest lap times where scored during practice, so I guess it is a score that won't last for the next races....

Anyway, it was fun, I hope we have more participants in the future, I hope everyone will find solutions to his car trouble and next race more people will fight for the first place.
