Whatever else can be said about this quarter's classes, I think they're a lot prettier than the last ones!

SCX Ford Escort (one make class)

Magnet out and Tarn Model Foundry weight in - perfect spec for a lovely little car: very sideways.

Modern 4WD Rally

Avant Slot Peugeot - stupid fast and sideways, this could be a spectacular class.

Modern DTM

Ninco's CLK: not very modern, but the prettiest DTM car by far.

Spirit BMW 635s (one make class)

SCX F1

Ferrari F1/87 'corrected'. Gerhard's helmet looks better in the flesh!

1960s Le Mans

OK I went over to the dark side. The NSR Ford Mk.IV is not the right shape, not in any known scale... but if you want to avoid coming last every time it's the only thing to run, so I'm told!

Ninco N1

My mildly modified paintjob to stand out among the many yellow Corvettes!

Vintage Scalextric F1 'with or without pants'

Now here's a dilemma! Bought the Ferrari and repainted it, only to discover the rear axle is bent. Bought the Shadow and BRM for £6 total and love them both to bits - decals on their way from Reissorg. I'm leaning towards the Shadow from testing them at home, but whichever one becomes the favourite, this class promises to be HUGE fun.

We've just resurrected the vintage Scalex F1 class at Bearwood and we're finding it a great class with close racing action. Added to which you can be competitive for a £5!

Loads of modelling potential too!

Thanks Ian, it really makes you think about how the hobby's changed. For all the exceptionally accurate models and mind-boggling tech that we now have, these little things take it all right back to basics.

Affordability is astonishing, and even a dog can be rescued - I've now got six of them, a complete collection for less than a Slot. It!

Enjoy your class - stonking fun.
