Wot NO Jim!! I was quite surprised to find out we had no Jim for the fourth round of the latest series which as ever was being run under the current "drought" conditions i.e. wet, windy and cold! We even had a late starting Will so the beginning seven eventually became eight.
Keith has rather made Scalextric Gp C (with permitted mods) his, running a @Kenwood' Porsche 962. Even though he low scored in round one he still took two wins and carried that sort of thing on with four race wins in each of the next two rounds and scores in the 30's. Well he went even better this time, taking a clean sweep of six wins, a top score of 36 and his best score on the night. I took the other race win with my Jaguar XJR9 in my last race but other than that I low scored to fourth overall on 20 points having used a variety of cars. Second in class was DaveH on 24 points from Tony on 23 points. Behind me, Wes and PJ were tight on 16 and 15 respectively with PJ manageing to throw away potential race wins as usual.
Keith has also been pretty good in the next class, Rally Raid, as well, apart from a blip in round three. Well, in this round he took four wins and the class win on 31 points. Second in class this time was Wes on 27 points which included a race win. He was just one point ahead of DaveH who was a consistent scorer and ended up with 26 points. Remarkably I ended up tied in fourth place on 23 points with Will, the difference being Will took two race wins to my one. This was my best win on the night and one of Will's two. PJ struggled with his two wheel drive car to 14 points and just beat a tied Tony and Trigger on 12 points.
At the break it was Keith on 67 points from DaveH 50 and Wes and ME tied on 43 points.
We start off again with BMW M3's and Trigger had very graciously allowed me to use the white topped club car. I rewarded him with coming off at the starters hairpin on lap one for one point. I followed this up with being the scond one off in my second race and then finishing fourth for three points in my third race. A pattern was forming which carried on. In my fourth race I was third with four points and then an easy second in my fifth race for five points. Could I get my six pointer in my sixth race? NO. It ended up with just Tony and me racing after everyone else came off and I managed to spin out just a lap or two from the end for another 5 points. Tony ended up the class winner on 30 points with three wins running a club car and his best score on the night. It also bounced him up to third overall in the standings. In second was DaveH again also using a club car to 28 points and two race wins. Tied in third place was Keith, using a SCX ALMS car and Will, using a club car, on 23 points. I was tied with Wes on 20 points but he took two race wins with his SCX ALMS car. PJ took the last race win with his SCX ALMS car and finished on 17 points.
So onto 1.6L Hatch. I again used both of my cars starting off with my Scalextric Mini which took eight points from three races. My Ninco Clio then took nine points from three races so it isn't surprising to see that I struggle with this class as well. Keith top scored in this class running a SCX Suzuki to four wins and 32 points. He was closely chased by Tony who ran out second on 27 points and three race wins with his Ninco Clio; obviously a better car than my version. On the podium for the third time and in third place was DaveH with a Golf on 22 points. The last race winner was PJ with his SCX Citreon C2 who tied on 19 points with Wes, this being PJ's best score on the night. I was tied on 17 with Will and Trigger got his best score on the night with 15 points.
At the end it was Keith (of course) on 122 points from DaveH 100, Tony 92, Wes 82, ME 80, Will 69, PJ 65 and Trigger on 47 points.
