I've blogged before that I like the GrandAm series despite a seemingly general opinion among sports car fans that it's not quite the real thing because the Daytona Prototypes (DP's) are spec built and the earlier renditions were (and I have to admit this) a bit ugly. However for this season the DP's have had a makeover and version three look really attractive. In fact much better than some of the LMP's we see in the World Endurance Championship or the American Le Mans Series.

What also attracts me to the GrandAm series is the stellar list of top sports car drivers that race them such as full time series drivers as Joao Barbosa (ex Rollcentre Racing), Ryan Dalziel, Lucas Luhr, Scott Pruet and Richard Westbrook to name a few. We are also lucky in the UK to have MOTORS TV covering the whole season this year and I've yet to watch a race that was dull.
The slot racing versions make good and fast slot racing cars as well, whether it's the Fly or Racer Sideways (but you do need to glue everything in on the Fly versions). I just need someone to make the 2012 cars.
