Round One of the Slot.it series at Pinewood just in time for the Pinewood SIC Round.
I think we will be trying the limited practice before the races so we will have to under way by 7.30pm. Are we getting a visit from the other side of the M25? |

I don't decide Dave
Committee (d) do No. Rules are the same as last year as far as I know - following the SIC rules. The NSR was just a topic of conversion in the pub. We are however running the meeting differently in that the power will be for a maximum of 3 minutes - or until 10 laps have been run by the last man - before each race. It is worth pointing out that it is to remove the inconsistency with who ran before you or vacant lanes. It will require peoples help in getting to the marshalling spots. |

Hi All
2010 Slot.it Endurance Pinewood Series finally kicked off on the March 1st!! I only have the results but as there are no PB points to be had in Rd1 just 50 to Simon and less to the rest of us - attached. We had a couple of visitors from Sevenoak - Chris Wood and John Hufton getting a little practice in for the SIC round in two weeks so 18 drivers for a club night meant we had 3 full races per round!! We had the proposed practice time before each race which I think was a benefit and didn't slow the meeting down. We started just gone 8pm and were done by 10.15pm so only 15 mins late. Hopefully we can continue this for the HRS and Slot.it rounds. If anyone (at the meeting) has any thoughts please email to them or talk to Paul - some feedback would be good. Racing...!! Heat One Simon, Paul C, Jerry, Dave "Dr" P, Steve & me take to the track. Round 1 saw Simon stopping to clean the tyres after an off giving Steve the early advantage with a very good 27 lapper followed by Paul C, Dr P, MarkRE, Simon and Jerry with even more trouble which to continue for the rest of the evening. Heat 2 - 5 were Simon's races getting within two feet of a 29 lapper. Paul was very cinsistent in his scores no matter which car he used! Steve getting used to the new Jaguar eventually ending up with a decent 28 lap run twice. Dave P had a trouble run on the outside two lanes which cost him overall. Mark RE had consistent run with the Nissan setting a best on the white lane. So we saw the top six overall from this heat Simon, Steve, Paul C, Mark RE, Dave & Jerry. Heat Two Mark P, Andrew, Paul P, Dave C, Jay & Mat with hardly a Jaguar in sight! After a small delay for Mark to replace his HRS Ferrari we got Round 1 under way!!! Paul P won this with the Audi looking good from Matt "Come on the Porsche", Andrew & Jay within 5 feet, Mark and Dave with the pretty F40 Round 2 saw another win for Paul but Matt this time only a few feet behind on the second of his outside lane runs, Mark P closing in on 26 laps and Dave picking up two laps with the Ferrari. Round 3 saw Matt get the lap he lost to Paul in Rd1, Mark P also joined the 26 lap club. Round 4 saw Mark P win by a lap from Matt & Paul who were one foot apart so a good run from Paul on the yellow pegging Matt on the middle lane, Dave C best run of the night on white. Rd5 Matt got a lap on Paul which he would hold to end from a troubled run for Paul on the outside Red lane. Rd6 Jay's best run but still a win for Paul getting him 8th overall, Matt 7th, Mark P 9th, Andrew 10th, Jay 11th and Dave's new F40 12th. So the grouping doing well!! Heat three The Sevenoaks visitors Chris & John with Pinewoods Mr Tesco Richard W, Jim, Karl & Sam.Rd1 and Chris (Audi) laid down a marker by winning the race by nearly a lap from Jim whose McLaren looked good. Sam 3rd, John 4th by a few feet from Richard and Karl with a couple of problems. Rd 2 and another win for Chris Audi looking good if a little unsettled around the banking, Richard found two extra laps (every little bit helps Rd3 Jim's best run with a good 24 laps over a lap clear of Richard, Chris 3rd, Sam 4th and Karl & John look have had problems. Rd4 Richard won the race from Jim both in the 24's, Sam pipped Chris by a foot, John & Karl locked in battle in 5th & 6th. Rd5 saw Jim into his rhythm with another 24 lap run exactly a lap up on Richard who had a eyelet pop out in his run to 3rd, Chris was 2nd and Sam, Karl & John came home in that order. Rd6 and Jim cemented his 13th overall with another 24 lap run the F1 GTR looking good but the win was for Richard's Sauber with his best run of the night 24.85. Sam matched Jim exactly with his first 24 lap run, Chris 4th, Karl 5th & John 6th. so they ended up with Jim 13th, Richard 14th, Chris 15th, Sam 16th, Karl 17th and John 18th. A good evenings entertainment - well probably apart from Jerry but it racing! - Thanks to all who helped out with race control and the new chairs for floor marshalling post definitely improved things. Good atmosphere maybe a touch less volume on the chatting when the scores are being put in would help but it was very funny Simon telling Paul C & Steve to be quiet!!! Hopefully most us will be back for Rd2 next week. All are welcome are will Maggie, Alan, Vic make the trip just before the SIC round as together with John & Chris it will give us a really full house!! See you next week Mk |

Hi All
Jim is right about the new chairs - much better than the cushions!!! One thing maybe we can do - especially with full heats - is to marshal on the coloured corners you just raced on. Any thoughts people?? Personally I reckon Steve's idea is a good one!! ttfn |
