Overall rules
All racers or guardians will help in setting up the track AND in packing away at the end of the evening.

Racecraft

Currently no crash and burn classes, but if your car leaves the table then you are out for that heat (even if your car survives!).
This is a non-contact sport. Purposely taking out someone on a corner is banned.
You can only take one car to the podium. You can take more than one throttle - but the spare must NOT be placed on the track.
You cannot change race car during the race heat. Between races is OK.
One car cannot be used in the same race class by more than one member - exception for direct family.
You must use your own car. Exception for members that are just starting that may be loaned cars by any member.
If your car stops:
---If a car dies and the track is suspect then a marshall shall immediately try a different car in the lane. If that is dead you are allowed to change throttle. If it is neither a problem of car or throttle then your score will be zeroed and you will be awarded an average number of laps.
---If the problem is car or throttle you will get whatever laps you scored up to the problem

Cars
All cars to be bona fida manufactured - ie no home made specials. Fitting bodies over aftermarket chassis is not allowed.

No weights allowed

No sponge tyres

No modification of chassis allowed
- no stiffening,
- no addition of materials for ribbing or structural changes,
- no lightening
- no cutting of chassis to allow front or rear to sit lower
- no modifications to axle mount positions
- no removal of material to get magnets sitting lower (when and if we ever run mag classes again)
Exceptions - light easing of screw holes to allow movement, chassis may be straightened to "blue-print" it, bearings may be glued in (note this does not mean glue can be liberally used to weight or stiffen chassis, motor may be glued in. Gears and wheels may be glued if required. No cutting of chassis to fit motor pods unless they are SPECIFICALLY designed to be done - eg Sideways capri designed for standard slot.it pod but you have to remove two small triangles of material. These are the ONLY things you can do, if it isn't in this list you can't do it!

No magnets allowed (boo, hiss)

No cutting of bodies allowed,
- no increasing wheel arches,
- no removal of material to lighten.
- No modifying to lower centre of gravity
- no modifying to lower ride height.
Exception, easing for body rock is acceptable, removal of exhausts or removal of small features stopping rock.

Motors fitted must be clip in replacements, no bodging to fit incorrect motors unless standard adaptors are used

Tyre treatment is allowed, any substances must be able to be bought in a UK shop or online in the UK.

For classes that stipulate "Box standard cars" the cars must remain exactly that - no substitution of wheels tyres motors. Exception for plastic-wheeled cars alloy wheels may be substituted but must be the SAME SIZE as originals and using ORIGINAL TYRES, motor must be the same as the rest of the class, so if the manufacturer produces a race version with a hotter motor the original class motor must be substituted

No items on the car are allowed to be removed. Cars must start the first race of the night as a complete car.

Copper braids must be used. No steel braids.

Qualifying
We are no longer running qualifying.

General
Decisions on classes are made by the club, voting is by club members that are present at the club only that have paid their annual membership fee.

If there is a dispute the chaiman (or secretary in his normal absence) decision will take precedence.

Throttles
Any throttle is allowed as long as there is no powered assistance, so electronic non-linear monsters with big cooling heat exchangers are allowed.
Standard 3 pin plugs (caravan size) are used, wired to the BSCRA standard

We use brakes

Classes

We now run a two week alternating class system, with two classes each week.
See calendar for more details as this varies season by season

NSR Porsche 997 GT3 Class (Box Standard)THIS IS A NON-MAG CLASS. Cars must remain standard apart from the following:1. Tyres can be glued and trued but must be standard tyres supplied with the car, no ultras or extremes. Wheels must be originals. Body and Motor mount screws can be run loose. Longer body screws are permissable. The passanger may be taken out but the seat must remain. Swing guide must remain standard and UNMODIFIED - it may be fixed in place using the standard supplied screw or allowed to drop by not having the screw fitted. Traction Magnets must be removed. Plain White kits can be used but the body must be fully painted with all parts in place (except mirrors, wipers etc.). Motor and wires must be standard. Braids are free choice, but must be copper. NO WHEEL SPACERS allowed, so wheels should be in the standard position not spaced out. Guide is free choice - sprung guides are allowed. No tampering with motors, no trimming of bodies or chassis allowed.

Sideways Racer Group 5
Any Sideways Racer Group 5 car with any slot.it parts fitted. If it says slot.it you can use it!
No magnets
Uniquely it was decided at the meeting 14/9/12 that as the design of the chassis had been made to take slot.it motor pods (mounting points provided on chassis) but you had to trim two small triangles of material away to allow the motor pod to fit in, that this chassis was designed to take slot.it pods so you could make the small chassis mod and fit a slot.it motor pod, like on Mike's car.
Conversely you cannot use non-slot.it/sideways parts AT ALL, except braids. So NO NSR ULTRA tyres, no other alloy wheeels!

NSR GT3
Any NSR GT3 car with any NSR part. If it says NSR you can use it!
No magnets
Conversely you cannot use non-NSR parts at all except braids. And this means YOU Mr "Ninco Ortmann Tyres" man. You know who you are....
AND standard rules apply: NO WEIGHTS. NO CUTTING BODIES. NO STIFFENING CHASSIS. And that includes hot glue used for inappropriate reasons. It does come out so no excuses

Open GT ClassThis is Non-magnet class. It is based on any available boxed cars (current or not), but any tuning parts from any manufacturer may be used to enhance performance. Any Gt car currently available from local model shops etc. We can now use any Slot.it parts but not cars if the second race is with slot.it, same goes for NSR Porsches or Ford GTs.

Ninco Ford GT anglewinder (Box Standard)
This is a non-magnet class. This is a Box Standard class with changes allowed only to rolling parts. All parts must be original fit except for wheels, tyres and gears. NO NSR ULTRAGRIPS or any other NSR tyre. Motor, chassis and body must remain standard and not altered in any way. Motor must be NC5 (either of the closed or open versions), no variant with NC6 or NC14 is allowed. Guide may be standard or Pro-Race, sprung or unsprung.

This thread will be updated when the rules change or we run a new class.

Riko

edited 17/9/12 for updated rules for Sideways chassis to allow fit of slot.it motor pod.
