Hi

here's the link for Maxi-models if you're still looking!

I have to say that Max's kits are the best that I've built. I also received my first order of detail packs just the other day and I'll certainly be going back for more!

best regards
Paul

Thanks for the link wink.gif

Now that was a great source of scale stuff biggrin.gif I'll have to place some orders there... The little stuff wasn't too expensive, (being a student without the millions...) and gee does those bodies look sweet! That's definitley on my priority list!

It's now been a while, and I thought it was time for an update. Here are some pics of the car with a motor I made up. I haven't discarded the original one yet, as I'm not sure whether the real car had a black plate covering most of the engine. I have no pics of the real car showing the engine through the rear window.
Here's how I made the motor: I bought an aluminium pipe 2mm outer and 1.1 inner diameter, and then pressed the ends with a pointy round tool to make a trumpety shape. That turned out to resemble the air stacks nicely. Then I found a very fine net in silver trim (part of an old belt from my kind girlfriend). That made a good covering for the air stacks (bloody hard to get into a curved shape though, not to mention attaching it to the stacks without getting superglue everywhere). It's stuck on a piece of plastic that was shaped like an engine, then I added a roll bar (piano wire) and some springs from another airfix kit. The exhaust pipes are made from a brass tube (2mm diameter) and the double pipe joints are carved from plasic and joined to the brass pipe with a 1mm piano wire inside for streangth.

I've also trimmed and filled the body in various places, and added a linkage thing to the gearstick, plus a few other things to the interior and driver (now he has seatbelts wink.gif ). I'm rather happy with the interior now, so I think I'll joint the two body halves together soon. Then there will be some more fiddling with the overall shape.

Here is one of your pictures, right click on it and left click on "Properties" in the dialog box that will open up. You need to copy the character string marked URL. That is the format that you will have to use with StarPhoto. Note the three numbers seperated by dashes, they indicate the page, row and column where the picture is located in your album. Don't forget the tilde in front of your user name.
When you want to post a picture hit the IMG button and put in the proper URL.

Yes, that's what I did above. I found out how to do it after a while. Are the pics not visible in my post?

wot, including that SIMPLE HOME-MADE VAC FORMER?

Mine still in the virtual arena, but that Lotus looks as if it's felt the benefit.

It's been a while now but a few things have happened, although slow.

I've now glued the interior together and into the blottom half of the chassis. I've also tried to seal this part to avoid any schmotz geting in there, once the car is assembled. This will all be inaccessible once the two halves of the body are glued together (I hope I glued it all well rolleyes.gif ). The driver now has pedals too and he actually presses the clutch pedal too as he's shifting gear. (Yes, I know ths is all too much as you can't see it now that it's assembled, but at least I know it's there tongue.gif . I also added a rear subframe and a little oil cooler (with appropriate hoses), and a watertank (with hose) and a wire going to the white ignition coil. I've gone a bit mad here cause most of this you wount even see if you're not looking very hard. I've also reshaped the exhaustpipes and added a little mount between them. There has also been a lot of filling and sanding of the body, but I forgot to take pics of that, so later...

Here are som more pics of the progress:

Looks Great Toby. thumbsup.gif

What wheels are you using?..and are the inserts the original ones supplied with the kit?..

Reason I ask is I've just managed to get hold of a kit which will be added to my Project list.

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan!

Thanks!

The wheels are from the Fly Lola T70. I'll have to find some other ones to finish the car of, cause they are supposed to be five spokes, but with theese giant knockoffs. If any one knows of any wheels like that I'm all ears...

thanks for your kind words tx. I'm probably going mad but, it's great fun sitting in the shed all those hours and just enhancing details (we have a great local radio station that plays only songs from the 60's so it's easy to get into the right frame of mind cool.gif ). My girlfriend thinks I spend more time with the cars than her, so I guess I'd better cut back a bit on the hours... I acctualy had her into scratchbuilding for a while, but at the moment she lacks the patience. She has however built a VW Beetle and she's painted an E-type Jag in the the "Shaguar" style!!! So I'm a fortunate man rolleyes.gif .

...regarding the patron saint of slotcars... That would be the nephew of Saint Christopher by the name of Slotius del Scalus if I remember corectly... I could of course be wrong here wink.gif tongue.gif
