Lloyd.L - Thanks for th offer but I had quite a bit of track left over from this build and I just aquired what I think is 2 more sets only bought it to get 3 Artin cars, one and open wheeler. loosesalute - been looking, I've got a Carrera Mini and Fiat 500 and a couple of SCX Compact F1's also by Artin 2 mini, 2, Nascar 2, Porsche and and open wheeler which I assume is an Indy car. Would love to get some Jouef but my budget is my main stumbling block, and I need to be on the look out for some 1/43rd trackside buildings and other scenery. -------------------- |

Hi All
Finally got my package from China, after four weeks they resent the goods and the arrived in two weeks. Part of the package was some trees which I have used to line the righthand side of the track. I've also painted the wall on this side as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About a week ago I topped up the water in the righthand pond and it seems to be setting ok but now it's starting to lift or delaminate, I can't tell which yet, not good. That's it for this time, now I need to see if I can make use of the other items in the package from China -------------------- |

Hi all
Been very quite in the shed for a few months, way to cold to do anything and if you've been folowing it the 1/43 track has been getting all my attention. Last week we had tempretures getting up to the high teens but now I've a fews days of work they are due to drop down to single figures again. Anyway gave the track an inspection this weekend and the track its self seems to be fine, will test it out during the week as I know I'm getting a slot car for my birthday in the week. For me a very special car which I will reveal why when I have it in my hands. As I have already posted the 'water' in the main pond did not like the cold weather and did not set properly and split and lifted, it now also sees to have reacted with the paint on the pond base. well it would seem to be a problem with the 'water' I have used as the small pond is now lifting ![]() as it appears to have lifted the paint from the plaster I can only assume it has srunk in the cold. This next item is really for the track that will replace this one either latter this year or next spring ![]() These are 1/35 scale world war II period women but as the track will be set in the early (mid) sixties I think I can get away with the so long as they have bright coloured cloths. Anyway here they are waiting for a bus to come (this is just tempory for the photos and I don't think it will stay). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As to scale they are 1/35th but does this really matter, a lot of women are shorter than average height (most of my family and my wifes being under 5'6". Infact when I put them next to the Britians farmer they are the same height, so we have a short farmer or tall women. Till later in the week -------------------- |

Hi all
When I decided to build a road track I thought it would be a good idea to also build up some of the cars I have owned. With this in mind I already have a Ford Anglia, the first car I owned ![]() I also have a Lotus Cortina in classic white and green, my 3rd car was a 4 door 1200cc Mk1 Cortina. But this would beed a full respray and a reworked interior and a change of wheels to make it look right. Then last year Scalextric announced a new Mk1 Cortina issue and it went to the top of my wish list but it never appeared. The It finally came out this January. It then went to the top of my birthday list and a couple of days ago it appeared. ![]() Opps sorry wrong photo ..... that's the real thing ![]() as you can see apart from needing a respray on the roof, and a little bit of tempo printing to remove, its a good match at least untill I can find a 4 door early non airflow body. Unlike the Revell Models the Scalextrix model is based on the true Lotus Cortina same as the Airfix kit. This is the car with no airflow the front sidelights seperate from the grill and the 'A Frame' rear supension. My car was a very early 1963 model and if you look close you will see that the rear wheels are to far forward in the wheel arch. This is because most of the running gear is from the Ford Consel. Even the bonnet badge said Consel not Cortina. Even the wheels are right, my Cortina was fitted with wide wheels (185/195). I do now need to find a set of bumpers, full for the rear and quarter bumpers for the front. As I'm setting this track in the early to mid Sixties and the next track will also be set in this time period I have limited the number of owned cars I can build the only other one being a Austin Cambridge A55 MkII. Now if I could ever find one of these in 1/32nd or even a Morris Oxford ! The next track will hopefully include space to display the cars as part of the scenery when not being used as I thing this will add to the period atmosphere. regards -------------------- |
