Hawthorne Park SCC
Hello people, please note that we are switching this coming Friday's (25th Feb) test night/free run with the 1/24th Open & BRM + Historics that should have ran on 4th March.

So just to reiterate
Friday 25th Feb we will be racing
1/24th Open & BRM
Historics (67 - 81)

So no excuses for bringing the wrong cars.
Got it?

See you there.
Phil

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR MEMBERS OF HAWTHORNE PARK SLOT CAR CLUB.

Gentlemen dry.gif
I have received a message from young Nic Hirst proposing a visit from himself and others from Pendle plus a number of racers from Scalemodels.
Discussions are proceeding on the nature of the race meeting, but it looks like it'll be what we'd call LeMans Series type cars. I'll let you know when plans firm up.
However, I will have to perfom some jiggery-pokery on our race calendar to accomodate the visit.
Best date would appear to be April 29th.
If you are all agreeable to this meeting, then the calendar for the next 3 months will look like this -

11 March 2011 1/24th Open & BRM
18 March 2011 Ninco 997 + Scalex F1
25 March 2011 Scalex GT + LMP
01 April 2011 GT + Touring Cars
08 April 2011 Goodwood + TGP
15 April 2011 1/24th Open & BRM + Historics
22 April 2011 EASTER - Good Friday
29 April 2011 OPEN NIGHT for visit by Pendle and Scalemodels

06 May 2011 Ninco 997 + Scalex F1
13 May 2011 Scalex GT + LMP
20 May 2011 GT + Touring Cars
27 May 2011 Goodwood + TGP

03 June 2011 1/24th Open & BRM + Historics
10 June 2011 GT + Touring Cars
17 June 2011 Ninco 997 + Scalex F1
24 June 2011 Scalex GT + LMP
01 July 2011 Goodwood + TGP

Changes proposed are in red.
We can discuss this coming Friday and then I can let Nic know the definitive date.
Cheers cheers.gif

Hi Phil 1st of april would be bad timing as we have the Trans am event that weekend so will be down the club that night sorting out the club room etc. April the 29th would be a good date.

See what everyone thinks.

Cheers Nic

Nic,
Thanks for reminding me about the Trans-Am event. Although I hadn't forgotten it (I am entered after all wacko.gif ), I hadn't realised you and the guys would be preparing on the Friday night. ermm.gif
As it happens the 29th suits us better as there's less messing about with the schedule.
I've edited my post to show the newly proposed date.
Cheers!
Phil

Excellent idea.

You know Jake & I will fit in with the changes.

Just let us know what the class is going to be!

For a fun knock out competition we could run the club minis?

I will sort the refreshments and clean the toilet, but not necessarily in that order!

Cheers

Hi Keith,

I am not sure the class has been finalised, but slot it Le man/GT was looking to be the popular choice between all of us.

The Minis are ninco minis owned by us, we run them ocassionally as a fun class!

I am sure phil will post the details of cars to be run. soon!

Hope to see you there?

Do you think you could arrange a return fixture at scale models?

Cheers

Just to confirm to anybody attending on the 29th April, cars will be Le Mans type.
Rules (as such) are ;
1/32nd LeMans Series - Any sportscar, GT or LMP where the prototype raced post 1981. Standard and modified cars are eligible.
commercially available chassis (non-metal for 1/32nd), running gear, motors etc. Bodyshells in plastic (or similar) to scale appearance (no lexan or vacforms). Tyres to be vinyl, rubber, silicone in black, to scale appearance.
Cars to have visible interiors with driver figure. No individual lane gooping or gooping of tyres is allowed. Tyres may be cleaned using lighter fluid or similar products. All 4 tyres must be present. If in doubt, slot.it challenge rules are applicable too.

Cheers
Phil
