I have updated the 1st post of this topic with larger images. Also a couple of extra images have been added of the Lola and the Chaparral 2E.

Just being realistic as unpainted body onlys are £20

The gt1s are ... mingers... much rather see a toyota gt one!

The painting is the most expensive part. The molded components don't cost that much, but the painting / detailed pad-printing takes a lot of masking, pads, potential scrap, etc.

That said, I wouldn't mind the offer of painted replacement wings. Some of the models have had pretty fragile wing supports.

Either way, I see plenty that will find it's way into my slot cabinet. Figures they will make the 911 GT1 98. I already accumulated a nearly complete set from Fly. Oh well.

Why does this 1 now have clear headlights and no canards when it was the opposite before? Costings again?

The front lights were clear in Sugo. I don't think we can't put canards (I think there are minuscule canards on the car) but I'm not sure yet

Whether or not correct for Sugo I'm sure a new body style, even a minor mod, would appeal to more punters than a number change.

If one company has to be pinpointed for taking care of detail changes, it has to be Slot. It, so I find your complaint a bit harsh.

My only wish is for more, I just can't have enough. Looks like we won't get the Yellow Corn McLaren in 2012 ... sad.gif Maybe next year Maurizio ?

So Mr Slot.it

Will you be doing bank loans?

because with all these cars coming out I will need one! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Exactly my thoughts too!. Do they usually release this many new Slot.it cars each year?, being fairly new to Slots this is all new to me so I wouldn't know.

Thanks for the reply Maurizio, nice to get direct answers from the manufacturer!

Hi
There are actually several changes made to the new Mazda, to make it compatible with the EVO6 chassis.
First, obviously, we have upgraded the chassis to EVO6 specs, including front riding height adjustment and screws #5 and #6. However, the sides of the car interfere with these two extra screws that EVO6 is designed for. In particular, a radiator on the left and the exhausts on the right flanks.
So, the flanks had to be modified and we've made the 'offending' radiator, on the left side, removable, for those willing to use the EVO6 chassis. The right side exhaust was removable already, being a separate part from the beginning. It all works well but the catch is that, to be complete in all its parts, the box stock car must be packaged with an EVO6 type chassis less holes #5 and #6 (let's call it EVO4). EVO6 chassis will be available separately - exactly the same as the car's updated chassis but with two extra holes. There was no other way.
On the other hand, the EVO6 chassis will be sold with the new flanks so that any old Mazda body may be upgraded to the new specification.

I've just received MRE's newsletter which says that Slot.it's SICA03G Porsche 962C is due to be released this month, February 2012. Other suppliers say it's due 2013. Does anyone know which date is correct?

Wow! Nice cars there!

Why do SlotIt keep on changing their motors every 4 years? Can't they get it right from the start? NSR seem to make fantastic motors from day 1 but SlotIt keep on forcing people to experiment with replacement stuff while keeping their customers forking out the cash to change chassis parts in older cars as they delete former motors. It's a real nonsense. Just make a motor that works well and stop messing people around rolleyes.gif

Yes, I for one love the fact new LMP/GT cars will come with flat6 AW standard smile.gif

However, there are some parts best not changed too much, I don't expect I will be the only one who doesn't like the fact the new guides as fitted to the lola cant be made to self centre due to the wiring point.
I know why the design was chosen, but I feel the benefit is outweighed by the negative, at least for racers, home use maybe not so much .....
I personally, hope Muarizio will not be making that design standard, but I fear he will need to see a return on his R&D and tooling costs.
