Hi everyone, thanks mostly to a great thread started by Fwick you now have a new Gallery, accessed from the Gallery button on the top panel under the Forum Logo.
For now a quick jump to the first donor can be had HERE. Many thanks to Bastumannen for taking the time to send me the first pics! May there be many more It goes without saying that the Gallery is open to any scratchbuild regardless of scale! Here is the basic idea and how to get your car in the Gallery: QUOTE From Fwicks post:
Ok, this is a great thread and it got me thinking it would be nice to have a readily available resource of these wonderful cars that appear in threads then fall down the lists... So we have set up a Members Scratchbuild Gallery. For now it is set to moderator upload which means you simply send your pictures to me ( or other mods when I have asked if they are Ok to do it) via email at: allan@wakefield-jones.net I will then upload them and if possible link them to your own 'how to' or 'progress article' either here on the Forum or on a site of your own. I simply ask that the pictures be 600 pixel width maximum. Please include a short paragraph describing the car and what it was (kit? / rebuild?) and what it is now, running gear etc and PLEASE use the spell checker before sending thumbsup.gif If it works as well as I hope then the Gallery can be set to 'Plus+ member' upload in the future. FINALLY! this isn't a Gallery to be humble in. If you built it and know it looks damn fine - get it up here! bragging rights rule in this Gallery -------------------- QUOTE " Life isn't about how many breaths you take, it is about how many moments take your breath away." |

Glad I could help. I must congratulate you on the idea and concept once more Swissracer. Scratchbuilding is such a big part of this forum so giving them their own gallery is pretty nice. I'm sure it will become very popular in the future and there will be lots and lots of scratchbuilds there.
EXCELLENT IDEA AND CONCEPT THANK-YOU SWISSRACER Frederick -------------------- Cheers,

Just saw tons more great works in the gallery. If possible could you please group the pictures sent in by people separately just like in the normal members gallery. Example: Bastumannen's Album, Greenman62's Album, Astro's Album, etc. It's kind of weird looking at them all spread out over 2 pages. Thanks.

Fwick, the idea is more a collection of great cars, to seperate it into members means we might as well leave it as it was, with each person entering their own in their own gallery and thus they would all be spread out.
It is more interesting to see the cars and THEN know who made them to my mind. Gecko - good question, what DOES define a Scratchbuild? let me ask amongst the mods and see what we can come up with in the next day or so as far as guidelines go. But as a general guideline I would say a full body conversion, ground up kit build and/or hand built chassis classify as scratchbuilding whereas a repaint on an existing body would not. More pics added from Greenman, newsome and Astro. -------------------- QUOTE " Life isn't about how many breaths you take, it is about how many moments take your breath away." |

QUOTE Gecko - good question, what DOES define a Scratchbuild? Even Socrates would have problems with that one From a bystander point of view, a simple (Yea I know, easy to say simple!) livery repaint would not qualify. A home crafted body on a production chassis, or a home crafted chassis under a production body, or a production road car coverted to a race car would meet the definition in my book. "Start from scratch = bar stock brass and pot of resin" would exclude too many brilliant works of art that we see here. Subjective innit Cheers, Tom. -------------------- Do not get trapped in prior thoughts. It is perfectly OK to change your mind as you learn more. (Dr. D. Redeimeier).

New additions from Jhardy33 - thank you!
Please note that one of the best ways to view any gallery is by selecting 'slideshow'. You can vary the time of each slide and choose to see the titles or not. Happy veiwing... -------------------- QUOTE " Life isn't about how many breaths you take, it is about how many moments take your breath away." |

This gallery just keeps getting better and better. Unfortunately it's the end of the month and we don't have the "greatest" internet deal. We have broadband but we only have 1 Gigabyte per month. Now I spend a lot of time on slotforum and my family also uses the computer so unfortunately we are down to very slot internet speed meaning that all the pictures load super slowly. So I've been only to look at the pictures in the gallery in there super-small option. No point doing a slideshow. It will move onto the 2nd picture before the first one is even fully loaded yet. April 1st is coming though! Thinking of upgrading to get more gigabytes in the coming months.

Greta Idea Swiss.
Just a quick jump on the band wagon. All you scratch builders, kit converters out there please don't forget the NSCC/Slotforum Pendle Chassis competition. The racing and judging will be held at the NSCC 25th Anniversary weeekend in may and you can enter the day before so plenty of time to build. It's an open competition, any one can enter, even race by proxy. For full details: http://www.nscc.co.uk/scratch%20build%20comp%202005.htm All money raised goes to "The Children's Trust' Charity Thanks Gareth -------------------- |

A new picture was added today by newsome.
The more pictures the better. This gallery certainly is going well. I'm guessing that not much is happening now because of the Easter Break but I'm sure the gallery will have lots more stuff in a few days. And yes when I look at the pictures they are in super-small size. Why can't March be a 28 day month! Oh well, Friday's almost here. -------------------- Cheers,

More pics sent in by MAF, David Lawson and Barry Boor.
Thanks for taking the effort guys and once again (as always?!) excellent work. Maf how DO you get that amazing paint finish??? We have also made changes to the Gallery upload . Anyone with PLUS+ membership can now upload themselves. Anyone else can continue to send them to myself or grah1 via email please. Also allow a day or so to upload. Format for the self uploaders should follow the existing, SlotForum user name and car model. First pic in series to have description of model etc. If I am not clear take a look at some already posted series. cheers for all the effort! -------------------- QUOTE " Life isn't about how many breaths you take, it is about how many moments take your breath away." |

More pics added by philsmith and alfetta.
Just saw the gallery again. After hovering at 51 images for a while it has gone up 22 images and has reached a total of 73 images. I'm glad that this gallery's back in full swing now. I expect that it will reach 100 images very, very soon. -------------------- Cheers,
