Powerbase wired, Throttle-Pro bluetooth and Scorpius wireless throttles all coexist quite happily in the testing that I have done. There may still be a few bugs if you try to connect all three to the same ID, but I'll work on that. Next up for SSDC is a penalty system and manual update! As well as any bug fixes that ae required. Hi awallace, Thanks for the update. How far are we from a penalty system and manual update? Now that this update has arrived |

hi
i have downloaded latest version, while trying to sort throttle issue i went back a version and today installed new version. Im getting lost here,is there a menu somewhere wich will tell me wich version i am actually running. When i downloaded latest version i clicked intall now so i assume,(dangerous word) that this is the version that is running, the throttle still does not connect reliably and i have removed all other bluetooth devices from the lappy. Still getting a crash sometimes as well, visible when cpu usage goes above 20%.. -------------------- |

Hi Ade,
In SSDC, at the top, go to "help" then "about". This will tell you what version you are running. -------------------- Regards.

Ade - there is an option in the Help menu, "About..." that will tell you which version you are running.
Ha ha - too late! -------------------- |

hi
right im defo running 5.4.1 and the throttle is not connecting. Click on the throttle window and click on throttle #1 and new window pops up,wait and nothing appears, repeat the above procedeure and the second time round the throttle icon will appear in the pop up window except by clicking on it the throttle does nothing.. Also repeating the procedeure means there is a riisk of a crash and system needs to be restarted to clear it... Will go back to older version tomorrow to verify throttle and the battery are still ok,in the meantime.????? -------------------- |

Ade - are you on Windows 7 or XP? Also, which bluetooth dongle are you using. It will tell this info on the bluetooth discovery window in SSDC. I have a similar problem with an old belkin dongle, but frankly the performance of this dongle isn't good enough for driving in any case. The best dongles for bluetooth throttles support the enhanced data rates (EDR), which means that you get better throttle response.

OK Ade. The bluetooth stuff on Windows 7 is normally pretty solid, so I suspect your device drivers may be playing a role here. You may want to try disabling the internal bluetooth and using a dongle (if you have one). Did you say that an older version worked? If so I can check the code and see if there is something that I am doing in 5.4.1 which is incompatible with your setup. It sounds like the discovery is working, so my guess is that it is within the bluetooth connect code.

hi
Andy.yes all worked ok with v5.2,in fact it worked superb from finding the throttle to pulling the trigger took mere seconds... I have yet to try v5.3 but i will try it tomorrow just to let you see what version it works upto. I do have a dongle but from memory it is bluetooth v1 and was a cheapo from maplin just so i could send photos to the old lappy. -------------------- |

Hmmm - OK. Well I did introduce a new call in 5.3 onwards which checks to see if a device is in range before it tries to connect to it - this improves the reliability of the software, as SSDC isn't trying to connect to something that isn't there. It works fine with all the dongles I have, but there is a chance that it doesn't work with yours. I can remove it if needed, but I'd rather not if I don't have to.

Hi Andy,
I am very new to all this having just received your latest V5 and the required cables etc. I am using standard throttles but will go to wireless later. I have updated all my decoders to ICP. Since I do not have wireless throttles through what means do I control the car lights? Thank you Alan |

Think I found the answer on enabling or disabling the aux feature. I was looking for something listed as options and making a selection from there instead of an icon to click on.
Ah! So much to learn!! Alan |

So much to learn!! Alan I don't think this switches the lights on/off itself, it just allows the ICP features to be accessed from throttle pro - I think you still need the throttle pro red button? Maybe there's another option somewhere to do it from the software - anyone found it? Chris |
