I'm trying to figure out what alternatives there are to the major manufacturers (SCX, Scaley, Carrera) of pits and grandstands. What other options are available?

Takes time, and it's not for my track, it's for a friend.

Wow, tough crowd... I'm not learning anything here. I'm guessing that scx, scaley, and carrera are essentially the only options? I thought there were smaller manufacturers that made this stuff, but I just haven't kept up with it. I would think it would be useful to have a list of manufacturers for scenic buildings for tracks.

Sorry Bill. Feeling suitably sheepish now.

Not sure if SlotTrackScenics do what you're after. They have hospitality tents and such, but not sure that they go to full on structures.

Its possibly lack of variety and availability that leads most folks to building their own.

Good question. There was a time when Artin grandstands were pretty cheap and available, but they are hard to find now - every once in a while I see some on The Auction Site, when NOS shows up from time to time or people are parting out sets...

What about the paper build items like those at www.carrera4fun.de?

There are a couple of paper (or cardboard) designs out there but the Carrera ones... there are so many to choose from... you could modify them for your own purpose. They even do the Carrera "curved" grandstand!

Cheers!

hi
last time i looked slotrack were not doing pit buildings or grandstands, but as ember says there are some nice service tents for rally tracks.

I think the prefered matarial for self build buildings is plasti card, obtainable from most good model shops.
