WINTER RACE SERIES 2012, 3 race programme Jan-March Options

The 2012 Winter series will take place during January to March.
Provisional dates are as follows

Thursday 26th January
Thursday 23rd February
Thursday 22nd March

2 classes will be run at each event with points from all 6 races to count.

CLASSES for January 26th are;
a) FORMULA 1 1970s (max width 68mm)
NINCO GT CARS

CLASSES for February 23rd are;
c) CLASSIC SPORTS CARS up to 1975 (max width 64mm)
d) SALOON CARS up to 1988 (max width 64mm)

The classes for March 22nd will be decided by the drivers at the January event

Race fee £3 per night ( hot dogs included of course)

I could do 9th Feb but would have to look at what Wye valley are doing as most of our entries come from them and i don't want to step on anyones toes.

Tonights race is on. Weather is going to be cold so no pit lane on the decking - space for boxes will therefore be limited (don't bring kitchen sinks)
Practice from 6.30. 2 classes as advertised.

Hi Bill
Will get beds and blankets ready. Forecast looks OK locally, but if there is snow about we are usually the first to get it.
I'm thinking of running 1 race clockwise and one Anti - should keep everyone on their toes!

Unfortunately the forcast bad weather kept a few away, but a good evenings racing was had by the rest of us and Ben even got a second hot dog!
Bill Charters did the double winning both F1 and SCX GT classes. Phil Field ran him close in GT, only .4 of a lap behind after 9 minutes of racing and he also got fastest lap at 5.969.
In F1 the gap between first and second was larger at 3.6 laps with Ben Clements coming 2nd jst ahead of dad Keith. Ben also made fastest lap at 6.479

Points after first 2 rounds ; Bill 10. Keith 6, Ben 6, Phil 6, Mike 2.

Next rounds on Feb 23rd (see seperate thread on "next event")

After the racing we had a sprint event with each driver allowed 3 cars running against the clock over 3 laps. The slowest 3 cars dropped out each round, and it left all 3 of Keith's cars plus one of Bill's in the final shoot-out. Just to make it a perfect night Bill came out on top once again.
