![]() While in 1999 Audi returned to Le Mans with a Coupé R8C closed for evident aerodynamic reasons, in 2011, it is a passage made compulsory by the new regulation imposed by the ACO for evident safety reasons. This new racing car presents forms and new proportions, but also new engine V6 3.7l. The rear "backbone" also arises from this new regulation. With its rear wing, lower than on R15 Plus, R18 opts deliberately for a better aerodynamic sharpness that is the vector of a good top speed in the Hunaudières. The front wheel axle benefits from the same tires as on the rear. A closed racing car offers fewer constraints towards the rain and the protections of the wheels commands. However the visibility in the cockpit is much reduced because of the uprights of windscreen and of the very high and very wide front wings. The steering wheel is henceforth to the right for a better balance of the weight in the right curves that are numerous in Le Mans. The lighting of the car now consists of LED only. R18 is characterized of R15 Plus by a unique uncluttered central exhaust pipe. The version proposed in Le Mans will present new improvements and modifications to gain a victory on the thread. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Body: Polyurethane resin; ABS chassis plate; Turned metal rear rims; Weight : 118 g Slot.it parts: Axles, Braids, Crown, Motor, Pick-up wires, Motor-mount, Pinions ![]() Packaging: ![]() Available to order now. The price should be around 110 Euros and it will be delivered to UK distributors next week. |

I am wondering is maybe the answer to the question above is BOTH. But the LMM for the home track and the NRS for the club? Im really liking this car. |

I'm wondering is this a joint effort by Le Mans Miniatures and Slot.it? Kinda of like Racer and Slot.it – more specifically the Chaparral. They are the same car (size and scale), but one done in resin, with a bit more detail (Racer) and one in plastic (Slot.it). Are we looking at the future version of the Slot.it?
The Slot.it parts are what make Racers run so well. I've heard that LM slot cars look great, but quality of mechanics as well as performance aren't the greatest. Mike |

Ok guys, if you go over to the other Audi thread and take a look at the pictures, you will notice that this version (LMM) has alot more detail and seems to be crafted more carefully. I wonder if this is the advantage of working with resin? LMM has modeled extra fins on the side of the car, the vents over the front wheels ect.
I wonder if: LMM chanssi may not be very performance oriented, well what if you take the body and put in on the other audi chassis or even get an HRS2 chassis under. The fact however that the parts are from slot.it it reminds me of a Racer car. My main concern being that i have never owned a resin car is durability. Will this break easily? Thank you. |
