Any of you guys know the 'EXACT' size of the PK screws for slot cars?
M? x M? OK, I know there are short and Long, so both would be good. Cheers Andy -------------------- |

So 31 (at this point in time) can view, but no one has an answer :-( Oh, we can answer some questions, but this question is similar to the classic "How long is a piece of string?". Different slot cars have different size and length of screws, and some even have several different size screws in one car, like on Scalextric's Aston Martin DBR9. -------------------- Getting old is when you stop watching Formula 1, and start falling asleep without any help.

Hi Andy, sorry to sound thick but what do yo mean by PK screws. Regards Keith LOFL.. PK Screws, just cannot believe you have never heard of them, been around now since the early 70's. before that it was Philips, which are still used a lot in the wood working sheds of the UK. PK, mainly used for Plastic and Metal. Now some is going to come back and tell us, NO, there not PK, there ............................................................ Andy QUOTE Oh, we can answer some questions, but this question is similar to the classic "How long is a piece of string?". Different slot cars have different size and length of screws, and some even have several different size screws in one car, like on Scalextric's Aston Martin DBR9. Yes, but, they are all around the same DIA. I think, 2.2mm. But try buying them. Cheapest I have found, £2.99 for 10, that's 29p each. £1 + per car. I'm sure I could buy them cheaper than that, Box of 100 for a fiver. If only I had the right DIA. Not bothered about the small counter sunk ones that screw into the inertia. -------------------- |

Andy
Ah, PK - Parker-Kalon - used in aviation / sheet metal working. Never heard of them. Not sure any slot car makers use them. Anyway as Pressbuttons says, diferent slot car manufacturers, different years, pozi drive, phillips, flat blade, metric, imperial etc - so many different combinations. You only have to look through my box of spare screws (or in the slots of Daves track) to see how many different types are used. Was there any particular cars you were referring to? PS Happy Birthday by the way, hope you got what you wanted, if not hope you got some slot cars Regards Keith |

Yes, I know there are lots of different types, but all basicly the same. Apart from fine thread. Most are course and around the 2mm mark. 2.3 at most. I check out Screw Fix. Cheers Guys and thanks. The smallest they do, Screwfix, is 3mm x 12 (imp 4 x1.5) To big. OH Well............... -------------------- |

I didn't bother with a Google search at first because I assumed that you would have done it yourself, but it seems you didn't think of that, or were waiting for one of us to do it for you.
I did, and the first result on the page came up with this: #2 self-tapping screws Can I go back to sleep now? -------------------- Getting old is when you stop watching Formula 1, and start falling asleep without any help.
