It may interest someone that apparently Lindberg DID make a 1:32 MGA mark II in light blue. I have seen it only as a rubber band powered kit and as a part of their Drag Race sets. I should get my Drag set soon, and then I'll be able to inform if the blue shade is anywhere near Monogram and how well the body parts are interchangeable.

Hi, I have the origional Monogram slot car. Also the Lindberg blue rubber powered car in blue. The colour is not the same on mine as the Lindberg is more RAF blue.
The Lindberg kit rear panel is different to the Monogram but could be made to fit. I hope this helps. Clive -------------------- |

When I manage to get my hands on a donor kit, I'll try to paint the lower rear replacement to match the blue plastic. If that fails, I'll try Pertti, I might be able to help, I think I just got the correct bit in an Ebay lot I got on Friday (I'll check it against the Lindberg just to be sure) Joel -------------------- If you are really bored, visit the SOUTHEND SLOT RACING CLUB site at ssrcworld.com

I got mine running, finally. Here is the sad state I got it in:
The reality was even worse, the gold paint had eaten the plastic to weird wrinkles, it took ages to sand and polish. This was a horrible project. A Lindberg MGA Mark II was a good parts donor. The lower body parts fit ridicilously well, the side bit locating holes & pins of Monogram and Lindberg actually match. I painted the Lindberg parts light blue, tried to get them close to the original plastic. Driver head is old Monogram, but the body a fake from Airfix parts. ![]() Mechanically the MGA was in a pretty good original shape, I just had to change the gear.

A great restoration, Pertti. And a bit of inter-breeding is well worthwhile to bring oldies alive again. I'm doing some of that myself.
The Monogram chassis does look in good condition. Rob J |
