So is there any news on a HOW TO Thread Riko ????

Will this work with a standard ie non modded 6 car base ? and the new APB

So to get it straight all I have to do is

Dissconect power from base to track
Power PB and connect Lap Display
Cut and shut sensors as close to new PB as possible ?
Do I need both sensors for Laptower to work ?
Will it work in Anolouge as well ie count both lanes ?

SO what have I missed ?

Which lap tower? SSDC replaces the scaley tower and as I understand it the old posh Laptower display will not work with APB.

Wait, wait, wait! We have been a bit busy with addressing the missed laps issue, still some work to do but Andy is about to look at streaming to the RichG display. You will just connect it in the same way as when you do PC updates using a PB-Pro cable (same as a Pit-Pro cable) which you likely to have spare anyway.

That would work also rolleyes.gif

Would be nice to be able to just use it with just a APB

Does the modded track method work ? Has it been actually done yet ?

Michael. Do you mean;

Use APB as main powerbase.

Use PB Pro (or standard 7030) with RichG lap display connected in same track.

YES, I have done It. Cut power cables from 7030 powerbase to track is essentially what you need to do. (but of course power 7030)

I put the original 7030 track piece directly before APB track piece.

I leave 7030 in practice mode, BUT for longer races I can put It in gp/endurance so I have a 2nd method of counting laps and can compare with APB. ( I have to test this, but see no reason why this wouldn't work)

I will make pictures soon. So yes, It is possible and It works, also in analog and without PC connected !

Bear in mind that this method will work with any track configuration - analog or digital, PB-Pro or C7042, and also count laps when you exit from the pit lane. It is sent race information direct from SSDC, so needs the computer running.

Riko, can you confirm what cabling I would need to make this work again when you release it?

Would it use the old PB-Pro cabling set up or just a single cable like the Pit-Pro?

Steve

To connect to the PC use an old PB-Pro cable and the original cable that rich supplied but with the connector in the program port. I can do a special cable that just goes from USB to RichG display if anybody wants one.
