Vintage lap counter Options

Hi guys,

Maybe you can help me find out what this lap counter may be worth?

I believe from the 60's, made by AC Gilbert, called Auto-rama, automatic lapcounter, model # 19339.

The condition of the box is fair.

The counter has never been put together, the plastic has not yellowed or any noticable fading.

The paper wrapping was never removed, I believe I was the only one to open and see this thing.

I am going to sell it but would like to get some sort of ballpark figure to what it maybe worth.

Five bucks if you can find a buyer.
Unfortunately, a lot of factors play against you:
1/ few care about what Gilbert ever produced. The best cars, mint in perfect boxes, are hard-pressed to reach 50 bucks, while track parts are virtually unsaleable and complete used sets are in the 20-40-dollar range.
2/ virtually all Gilbert sets are unoperative today due to tire condition on the cars and virtually no possible replacement without major re-engineering, combined with corroded track rails, doubtful condition of electrics...
3/ down to a few exceptions, lap counters and controllers are the losers in the vintage slot car market, the thousands of Cox controllers on offer hardly finding takers at $5.00 or sometimes... less.
So your only chance to succeed is simply to place the words "very rare" in your auction in hope of hooking a fish.

I will let my friend know that it is worh about nothing, keep it as a personal collectio item.
