Can i just say that was a really good night last night, a very good turn out and if you take Alan and Fred out of the equasion it was also very close. Lots of different cars on show not least of all 4 Fly Alfa 156's, mine included, and after round one three of us where scratching our heads as to why we where at least two laps off the pace dry.gif , still to cut to the chase come final time and some changing of cars we had some very good racing. Obviously Alan deserves a pat on the back for a very convincing pole and win, Fred salvaged his evening after ditching his Alfa for Sue's Capri, i snuck a podium after borrowing Mags BMW. Some very good performances worth mentioning, Jimbo made the "A", Mags came 5th and Sue 7th, both excellent, Shep was in with a shout for the "A", he was the only one who could make the Alfa work and was very unlucky. Roll on the rest of the year, this was an excellent start.

I can only agree.

The form book was thrown in the air.

What would you all do without "team wombatt" car suppliers inc! mind you, as Chris said, I had to rely on a previous build in the guise of Sue's capri.

Good start. Chris suggested Nascar on Good friday....any objections?

Kev, not sure the Capri was a sports car as such, it was a touring car silhouette racer i think. As for Wombat slot car preperation services, i think 4 out of the top 5 cars speaks volumes, top tuner. biggrin.gif

"Wombatty race services" i think i might start borrowing a car, just so i can break into the "A" team finals, yeah maybe not... I think i'll just have to make my own car work wacko.gif I'm not that bitter about it, honest wink.gif

Anyway a good first night of proper racing. Where did Mags suddenly learn to drive????? what a dark horse. Also probably the first time at a club anywhere that there were 3 Lady drivers, well done girls. Lucy says she enjoyed it a little and WILL come again.

I must say Mags has come on leaps and bounds since she started using Als Truspeed controller, it is good to see, obviously i know them from way back from our BSCRA days so i was aware of how well she could drive, its the foot stamping you have to look out for, thats when you know she is trying hard, biggrin.gif , anyway the ladies title should be very close this year, well worth keeping an eye on. It is nice to hear Lucy will be back, i thought she did very well for a first visit, Shep made a very valid point though, how many clubs have had three girls racing, not many i would wager, and its not as if they where token entries, they where competative as well.

I keep encountering this come every week comment. I already decided that I won't go to a club near me because it seemed I was not welcome unless I came every single week. I hope my plans to come to Tendring now and again are not going to be an issue, and would like to think everyone who comes through the door is welcome?

Deane

You will find Tendring one of the most friendliest clubs around,

and you would be made very welcome when ever you come.

Deane, can i just second what Al has said, although i cant get along to Tendring every week when i do make it along it is always a blast, very friendly, the standard of racing is very good, also because i am hardly an expert if i do need to ask for help it is always there, you should pop along mate. smile.gif
