Nice looking model, good details.

2 Wheel Drive is a shame, but looking forward to have a play with one.

I can't abide the weathered look on any car.

Has anyone got any tips on to removed it, or will I have to wait for the Carrera release?

MINI COUNTRYMAN WRC No.37 Rally D’Italia 2011

Rally Finland livery is what I'm seeing here. rolleyes.gif

It's a great shame that Hornby still don't/won't do their rally cars with the correct amount of driven wheels.

..... And I'm with Jon Cross on the weathered look. If I can't find the car I want in clean livery I go without.

Add me as a weathered look hater. The car's ugly enough - not Scalextric's fault - without spraying brown paint over bits of it. I am, though, pleased that it's two wheel drive. Four wheel drive just adds complexity and rubber bands that perish with age.

Scaleys done a very good representation. Bet it sells very well amongst all the Mini fans out there.
Mind you, our lasses sister has got a Countryman. What a dogs dinner of a car. To me a Mini should be small, not looking like a tank.
Dopamines right, keep off the 4WD.
Cheers,
Kev.

At least they put the motor in the rear and not the front. I quite like it but wont be buying one. Clean, weathered or otherwise.

Still annoyed that it's not Meeke getting the high detail finish but overall not a bad job. I'm in.

Agreed clearly the wrong rally plates. And no BP ultimate on the front side panels.

See

Do Scaley deliberately make errors like this to avoid licencing costs?

I'm pretty sure it's the press release that's wrong, Hugh, not the model. The livery looks spot on for Finland, complete with BP Ultimate (or ultinate/ultmate/ultrnate, as BP bizarrely spell it) on the side. Hopefully a clean version will be produced too. I'll buy it if it is, but I'm passing on the dirty one.

Great comparison photo's Dopamine, looks to me like Scalextric have made a very good effort.(even the FG sticker on the windscreen)
Bit of a marmite car, but I love it. Almost so ugly it's beautiful.?? I don't even mind the bit of filth.

For those like me who would prefer a clean version, can I suggest you contact Scalextric through their web site.

After all they did a clean and dirty version of the Peugeot 307 some years ago.

I've never noticed the BP 'Ultmate' spelling before... it stands out now, it's going to annoy me every time I see it!

As for the car, it's great there is a Mini in Rally again, I'm sure we'll get a clean version, they have spent money on a new mould so will want to get their money's worth out of it! Could be fun to get one to slide it about magless, maybe alongside the Fiesta (do Scalextric still make the Ford WRCs) rather than just race F1 cars all the time!
