Hi,

Just a post to let you all know that Hamilton Model Car Club will be holding its annual team race on June 23rd & 24th. thumbsup.gif
This year we will be running SCX GT cars (Aston Martins, Corvettes, Seat GT etc) which will be provided by the club for each team to race (one car per team).

Teams will be formed once everyone has arrived but each team will have at least one HMCC driver (for insider track knowledge purposes biggrin.gif ).
The format will be for each team to run for one hour on each lane on Saturday and on Sunday although this may change depending on the number of teams (no racing till midnight!!!!).

We aim to begin practice around 10am on Saturday (or when most drivers have arrived) then start racing between 11am-12am (more specific details will follow once we have an idea of number of racers/teams) .
On Saturday night the club will also provide a buffet / BBQ. We also aim to finish on Sunday afternoon around 4pm - to allow visiting drivers to get home at a reasonable hour!!

This should be a good team event round one of the best slotcar tracks in Britain (see reviews and comments of visiting drivers at the Slot.It Challenge 2007 Round 3 HMCC event).

If interested in the event please contact myself or Jim McKie for more info - accomodation etc.

Cheers,
Kenny B

Hi All

We fisherpricer's have youth cool.gif and cheekiness tongue.gif on our side. But don't worry, we will go alot slower this time so the margin of victory isn't so embarrassing. wink.gif

Ross,
Thats very kind of you - we may just hold you to that!!!!!

I remember a certain football pundit saying you don`t win anything with kids - wonder how that turned out...........oh yeah they won the treble including the European Cup, doh - bad example laugh.gif

C`mon seniors - we need to get some respect back!!!

Cheers,

Hi,

Just over a week away from the team race - currently looks as though there will be 4 teams battling it out for the win with between 16 to 20 participants.

Cheers,
Ken

PS: Ian I also think your crew may do well - got any possible team names??

Well those pesky kids have done it again!!!!

Congratulations to Fisherprice Racing for completing the treble of HMCC team race victories thumbsup.gif

The results were:
1. Fisherprice Racing
2. Good Bad Ugly
3. Billbo Racing
4. Fast or Last (unfortunately last!!!)

All teams completed between 3000 and 3200 laps in 8 hours (real distance of 55miles per team) with no major breakdowns using standard SCX RX42 motors.

The major competition was between Billbo Racing and Fast or Last (only 5 laps seperated these teams after 8 hours of racing!!! with Good Bad Ugly a further 15 laps or so ahead).

A good time was had by all racers (although there may be some sore trigger fingers today after completing around 800 laps in 2 hours). biggrin.gif

Cheers,
Kenny B
