Finally, the Big track is used!!
If you get to race on it shout and i will be over in a shot. Most people know i love that track and the reason i don't go to G anymore is a disagreement over that track and its lack of use. But if its running and in use on a regular basis, you will get another member back! I love it and would love to see a race night on it, not every week to start with, but every now and then, once a month or every other week or something, stand alone form the usual thursday nite, but trying not to stand on the toes of the thursday nite section soo 'they' don't throw their toys out again! Glad the newer memebers have finally had the chance to see what all the fuss is about! When the cars are set up for the track it will become even more of a challenge. Keep me updated pretty please, I was thinking of heading over sometime, this may just speed up me coming! tis great news, speak soon cookie -------------------- The Battenburg Kid

Track in better condition than it seemed to be
my cars with p6 tyres gripped very well only my driving letting them down had small race with timing everything went well I came second using a fly flyer riley track needs bit of a clean as tyre lanes were showing and tyres needed cleaning fairly regularly to get grip back but should quickly become the track it used to be tyre of choice definately 19x10 slot.it p4 (if available) or p6 on 15x8 wheels with oil treatment -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Fitted Ian's tyres last night and what a transformation...really starting to take shape, bit of oil & a light sanding she will fly....much more grip.
pony also ran well....once I soldered motor wires on!!! -------------------- I have something to say...'its better to burnout than to fade away'!!!

I was pleased with my Jag last night. The initial only difference was that last test was P6 on standard rims, last nights test was P6 on PCS 'air' rims. Seem to have made a load more traction even tho I havent got to the bubble stage yet.
just truing some F22's. Seems to be going well at 5v/1A. They are smearing a little but not marbling up. -------------------- ![]() |

realised today that Archies chassis is banana'd so began the process of flattening it......
I know Pete mentioned he had difficulties with his chassis. It just wont flatten. Its had maybe 10 kettles of water over it and left to stand each time - has been under magnets since Friday evening...still wonky. Any better ideas? Have tried the heatgun so I think I will just need to get it hotter. Molten plastic here we come! -------------------- ![]() |

Hi Jim,
I haven't seen it and don't know which car you are having probs with, but, make sure you have removed any moulding imperfections including any makers name mouldings proud of the chassis, before you do the heat treatment. These can cause the chassis to not be completely flat to the plate !!. VBR Chris A. |

Chris its an XJR. It didnt seem as good as mine on track and on checking i saw that the front wheels were on the cock.
Its proper banana'd! Will keep trying but its slowly looking like a scrapper as the guide post is shrinking! -------------------- ![]() |

Jim, I resorted to G-clamps. wood base, a hair dryer & rapid cooling.....chris also believes in straightening with the motor mount in, I never have...personnal taste/competancy??????

Thanks guys - perhaps the rapid cooling bit is the key?

How does rapid cooling work guys? I always thought rule of thumb was to let the chassis come back to room temp very slowly

Guess its a bit like 'quenching' when you heat treat metals. We are heating up the plastic to make the particles take on a different shape, then we cool it fast to keep them in that form.
Or something like that. -------------------- ![]() |
