When I was in Rome I found a really nice pub...it was an Irish theme pub! biggrin.gif

So you'll be racing Lightning McQueen then?

I've got the Tyco Lightning McQueen and Doc Hudson, these both came with 3.5 ohm arms BTW, and a Fast and Furious Skyline is on the way to me as we speak.

Hello Chaps. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the NASCAR rules for 2011 (as per the website):

Motors:

Stock and original manufacturer magnets only and only two motor magnets being used in any chassis at a time. Stock manufactures armatures only with no alterations such as balancing, expoxing, dewinding etc. Armatures must be approx 6 ohm with exception to the Life Like 3 ohm armature which must be only used with *Life Like T chassis.

So that means no Tyco's/Mattels with 3.5 ohm arms. Body wise the Disney cars are still ok though.

Any questions pm me biggrin.gif

As Worthing is a nearly 4 hour drive from mine, I don't think I need to worry about the rules, it's a bit too far to come for an evenings racing, though it must be a fair old drive for Deane.
Bizarrely I've been through Worthing twice this year, never been there before, once was because the M3 was blocked and the second time was on our way to Arundel castle, which I'd seen on the first trip.

Last time I went directly there without stopping was on a weekday morning, so I had the A12, followed by the M25 and then the M23, none of it was good, and as I was getting paid, there's no point hurrying, on a good day it's 75 minutes to the M25 from mine, on a bad christ knows, took me 4 hours to get to Battersea on Tuesday - this normally takes me 2 and a half.

On a Sunday morning I could probably get to Worthing in 2 and a half hours with a good run, on a weekday evening in December that isn't going to happen.

The Doc Hudson is a HP7 anyway.

It's an HPx2 I would think, a different beastie altogther. It might fit the 440X2 pan chassis as well, but has those weird spatted wheels if I recall.

Anyway, isn't the HO version of DH sans sponsorship, and therefore not a Nascar even if one stretches things?

Using the 3.5 ohm arm is a moot point anyway, both my best Tyco X2's are 6 ohms, much better than the 3.5 example that I have, so I guess the Lifelike T will be the weapon of choice!

The SG+ was - by some distance - the best car on the oval last time out:

Or maybe it was just the drivers wink.gif

I'm sure the Life Like runners can close the gap, but it was easier to get a good balance with the Super-G.

It'll also be interesting to see if people run Mega-Gs in Nascar. And diesel's new conversions are on that chassis cool.gif

I knew it was a H something. Certainly not a regular 440x2.

The HPX2 evokes the HP7 and 440X2 pan look but I think the internals are changed so that the altered versions of the magnets sit high, which with the lower ohm arm are designed to run on battery power. I think the thin, tall wheels of the blue and yellow muscle cars mattel did in a battery set won't fit other chassis either.

I wish barbieco would put that much effort into the slot line as a whole!
