HELP.

I need a helper!

My plan is to travel up on the Saturday (in a van/lorry) with the tracks and stuff and set up. Overnight in a hotel (curry?) and then run event on the Sunday.

One of the track (Circuits to Scale) can't make the event now and i need an additional track to use - can anyone help?

Also is there anyone in the Surrey area who can help on Saturday - i will pay your accomadation and Curry!

Let me know.

Gareth

Thanks for all the offers of help on the Sunday and Saturday.

I think (with John's, Pendle, AEC and others help i have Saturday sorted) - so no further help required.

On Sunday i have the following down to help;

1. Gareth Jex
2. Jamie Coles
3. Matt Tucker
4. John Underwood
5. James Noake
6. Reserved
7. Luke Tyrrell
8. Wayne Gobel
9. Alan Davies
10. Phil Barry
11. Simon - (Splitrim)

I will be at Gaydon all day Saturday so will collect the passes then. On Sunday arrive as early as you can (0800 ish) and i will meet you in the car park - rather than put my mobile telephone number out there - please drop me a PM to get my number just in case.

See you all next weekend - prizes are sorted - I'm packing a display of unusual slot rally cars tonight (let me know if there is anything from the collection you would like to see), time sheets are printed, brand new SRGB HQ (bright red gazebo) is sorted and covered in graphics, new sponsor on board, Teamslot Lancia's all ready for collection, tools packed, data sheet ready for inputting times, blar blar blar - all we need to do is play with toy rally cars - oh and smile on the day!

Hi Gareth I assume that you still require me to bring the CHERWELL stage (Oxford 2011), and as you will be at Gaydon on Saturday my intention is to bring and set up on Saturday early PM (14.00). CHERWELL is complete with legs, power supply, and takes up 4ft x 9.5ft with lap counter and timer controller(very old lap top PC), so just need 240V 13Amp socket.

Hi Alan - Yes please. I hope to be at Gaydon from about 11am on Saturday. That would be great if you can bring it then. Any chance you could also loan a suitable controller also?

Thanks

Gareth

We are set up and ready, just a couple of stages to set up in the morning and then a full test (play) with the cars/stages.

Wow - what a day!

A very well organised and run event IMHO. Hats off to Pendle, Scale Models, Steve Cannon and everyone else who organised the event.

We were busy!

I printed over 160 time sheets for people to enter our stages and by 2pm I had to photocopy 60 more. We used 6 stages on the day all sponsored by our manufacturer sponsors; Avant Slot, MSC, NSR, Scalextric, SCX & Teamslot. We used the seventh stage as a practise area and free for all.

By the end of the day we had 126 completed rally time sheets returned and entered. We had entrants from five years old to 68 years old (well that was the oldest recorded age!). Children - lots, Adults - many, Dads - lots, Mum's (after being convinced they would like it) - many, people taking it too seriously - NONE!

I could not have run this event without the support of clubs and individuals who came along. My sincere thanks to;
John Underwood, Jamie Coles, Matt Tucker, James Noake, Julian Allard, Luke Tyrrell, Wayne Gobel, Alan Davies, Jim Moyes and Keith Jenkins.

May I also pass on my thanks again to our sponsors who provided prizes and car to use on the day. It's safe to say the cars were very well run in at the end! Sorry to Steve from AEC who we convinced to allow us to use a brand new 1;24th scale Avant Porsche Rally car - we wrecked it!

Below are four screen grabs of the entrants and times, congratulations to the winners (i will contact you directly if you are in the top six).

Typically i didn't get the chance to look around and only managed to buy 2 slot cars all day!

Lots of interest from the public and many clubs and events asking about SlotRallyGB 2013.

I really enjoyed helping out with the Slot Rally stages, it was busy but good to see so many people enjoying slot cars, quite a few dads asking me about creating rally stages at home and I even had one chap who was keen on routing his own stage (I pointed him in the direction of SF as I know nothing about routing)
