Before decimalisation, it was all about LSD, but I am too young to remember.

I think I know the guy who ordered that track.

As Slot-It said, as most of Europeans races occur on 6-lanes Ninco tracks, that kind of corner is always present.

Ordering a "smooth" corner radius track, would give "bad" habits to the racers running on that MB SLOT track so they would be lost running on "standard" Ninco tracks.

The good news is, as MB track is made by segments, one could whenever he wants, replace the "coiny" section with a smooth one.

The other good news is that the main defect of the Ninco track (dilatation with temperature variation) is gone....and that's really great.

Yes of course customers are entitled to order whatever layout they like.

It is true that some Europeans races occur on plastic tracks with "three penny" bit corners, but I would question if most do. Most of the big Europeans races I have seen and read about are on 8 lane routed tracks, which all have "smooth" corner radii - often including corners with increasing or tightening radii as well as constant radii.

I've found it straightforward enough to adapt my driving to suit all types of corner (increasing or tightening radii, constant radii of many different sizes and "three penny" bit), and there are plenty of drivers far better than me. I don't think drivers would get into "bad" habits by driving on different sorts of track, quite the reverse in fact, I think learning how to drive different sorts of corners improves your driving.
