Hi Mike.
Great class/format! You won't keep me away from Yorkley. I hope our very 'tired and emotional' Hereford friends can make it to. They will still be in recovery mode after the Italian NSR 24hr enduro...but maybe still hankering after some good racing and hot dogs! See you then, Regards Bill. |

Hi Mike.
Just looking at your 3 different model rule. Is that class of model or just not the same car? If it is just a different car, then someone (no names no pack drill!) could use 3 NSR Moslers! If you say 3 different class models, at least you can then use only one GT model (NSR/Slot It etc) + saloon, open wheeler etc. If you go this way, suggest you put all GT/LMP's/CanAm's together as GT models, then ask entrants to pick 2 more class cars, such as a Saloon/ touring, open wheeler etc. please confirm what you have in mind. Cheers Bill. |

Hi Bill
You make a good point, what if we say only 1 car from any manufacturer, if running RTR. So, no more than 1 NSR, SLot-It etc. I would think most cars are going to be Sports/GT. As we haven't run this type of race before I think its going to have to be fair play by all!! most who come to race at Yorkley fall into the "Gentleman racer" catagory. We will have a batch of new drivers here on Thursday, none of which have driven more than once (last week on the track). It means I will be supplying loads of loan cars (mainly Slot-It, Scalex etc) To date the list of those coming is: Bill Charters, Mike and Reece Hyde, Tony Condon, Mike Wall, Sandy and Mark Lees, Curt Green, Tony Freegard. Probables are Pete Crane (down from Cheshire again)Gordon Baker. Don't knows, are Keith, Ben, Matt and Phil. If everyone turns up it will make our biggest race evening yet at 15. Mike |

RESULT - FORMULA LIBRE - 19th APRIL
BILL CHARTERS wins again, 5 wins in the last 7 races. He must be the favourite now to take overall honours at the forthcoming YORKLEY CLASSIC in June. A different format was used this time, with drivers needing to dig deep into their slot boxes and find at least 3 competitive cars - a different one for each heat. Most used variations of RTR cars with the predictable final line up of 3 NSR Moslers. Only Tony Condon, Mike Wall and Pete Crane were brave (or foolish) enough to risk running scratch builds. 3 new drivers joined the fray this time in only their 2nd go at slot racing and although they were having their own battle at the back of the field they seemed impressed with the speed of the front runners and on the whole kept out of the way when being lapped. Hopefully they will be back next winter for the new series (see seperate thread shortly) THE HEATS BILL CHARTERS........29.16...28.56...25.08....28.89...total 111.69 KEITH CLEMENTS......25.66...27.76...26.91...28.65...total 108.98 PHIL FIELD...............24,34...25.50...25.16...27.71...total 102.71 MIKE WALL...............28.32...20.36...24.78...24.47...total 97.93 MIKE HYDE...............25.69...20.79...20.71...25.38...total 92.57 PETE CRANE.............23.77...21.84...19.40...21.88...total 86.89 TONY CONDON.........16.51...22.64...23.47...21.51...total 84.03 REECE HYDE.............18.82...21.19...21.12...20.44...total 81.57 TONY FREEGARD.......16.99...18.30...16.48...16.90...total 69.67 MARK LEES...............15.68...16.66...15.52...16.60...total 63.96 SANDY LEES..............17.00...16.14...14.06...16.64...total 63.84 (our first ever lady competitor) Fastest lp in the heats was By Bill at 5.933 secs, beaten in the A final by Keith at 5.889, they were the only 2 under 6 secs and only 3 other drivers managed a lap under 7 secs FINALS E FINAL (20 laps) 1st MARK 2nd SANDY 3rd TONY F D FINAL (20 laps) 1st REECE 2nd TONY C 3rd MARK C FINAL (20 laps) 1st MIKE H 2nd REECE 3rd PETE B FINAL (25 laps) 1st PHIL 2nd MIKE W 3rd MKE H A FINAL (25 laps) 1st BILL 2nd PHIL 3rd KEITH |

Thanks Mike,
Another great Yorkley evening. Some new faces, always good, and the usual suspects making racing hard and fast! I think your 'favourite' tag for my June chances might be a little optimistic...the entry list looks like a 'who's who' of the great and good of the Classic scene! Looking forward to the June event, should be another cracker. cheers and thanks, Bill. |
