As has been pointed out in the previous post's on this thread, Norwich Slot Racing, Southend Slot Racing Club, and the other clubs that took part and supported the meeting, should surely be the ones to take it on. As far as I know, no Presto member has ever raced in this event.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your kind offer but I don't think it would quite work as this type of event will only attract a small number of enthusiasts.

Thanks Fred, i just didn't want to see something die that was clearly successful without offering some help.

The last two years have been very difficult for me - thus the lack of involvement by Presto at events outside normal club racing.

Jon. I will remember not to enter Presto into any events that we have not taken part in before, or i will ask your permission for us to enter first!

Funny, I thought both Jim Kelly and yourself were members of Presto as well as NSR.

A shame that some completely pointless unpleasantness spoils this thread on Fred and Pete's delightful race meeting.

On a much more positive note, I had the pleasure of meeting Clive Mills for the first time on Saturday at Colchester and loved his beautiful slot cars. During our conversation he offered me some Ecurie Ecosse decals for a C type I had built. These arrived in the post this morning and I would like to thank him for this act of kindness.

Hi David, That is OK. surely that is the kind of thing that enthusiasts of this type of racing do to help eachother out, instead of bickering amongst each other over who supports one event or another.
I say again that the event was as enjoyable as always, well organised and gave some really great racing . It would be a great shame for it to stop.

Hi Guys

Sorry I didn’t get to the event this year, or last year come to think of it, but when I was there It was a very good event. I would have been both last year and this but it clashed with other bits of life. Don’t give up, would it be easier if you kept to the same format. I like the idea of building a car I will race more than once, even if it’s only once a year. I know I am only one racer but I come again.

All the best

David F
