Guys,
Have a look at the "Proximas novedades" section of Evotecshop

It appears you can reserve your Toyota GT 1 MRRC-Scaleauto in advance!!!

QUOTE (Scott @ 13 Mar 2006, 19:21)
Oh, I hope it isn't Spirit.  There performance first, looks last philospohy is not to my taste. I'd still have to buy it of course, but I'd far rather it was Fly or, better still, Slot.it.  Then again, after the Maserati I wouldn't mind it being Scalextric either.

since when is spirits looks bad? Have you seen there old f1 cars?! And a 2cv? what a coplete waste of tie and oney, should go into making somthing better.

biggrin.gif Even something with the power of 44 2CVs would still be vastly under-achieving in Group C!

I'll have to look up the actual model number, or find where I've stored the HO versions. Got a feeling there might have been an "R" in there somewhere too - R88CV perhaps??

Be simpler for Scott just to tell us what the correct designation for the car is. He's probably got access to a real one sitting in storage somewhere!

The Spirit cars are good - I raced a Reynard all last season - superb little car!
And recently had the opportunity to run a Dallara for a while - equally good - just not sure about fluoro green and fluoro orange as a scheme... blink.gif

Carge - one orange shell a little white paint & some hooters transfers and who's a happy bunny? smile.gif

Personally I think that Spirit product one of the best products on the market. Detail is equal to Slot.it. Lack of spares lets then down.

Certainly value for money. Alloy wheels, decent motor, proper bearings & decent axles for a little over 30 quid.

Horses for courses.

I have to say the Green Dallara was a good choice for the 6 hour event as it stood out from the rest of the cars and all those black Nissans!

The Dallara that I setup for that event was used at last years London GT and with a motor pod swop it we be used again on the 19th March with the same motor as last year, a lot to be said for Spirit cars. I like them a lot. thumbsup.gif

Mr M, The Toyta 88C-V is the car you desire. They raced in 1988 in the Wolrd Sportscar Championship, most famously in Minolta and Taka Q liveries.

http://www.doslot.de/Ochenbruck2004/Minolta2.jpg

Thats 1/24 by the look of it, possibly a Tamiya kit bash but the site is german and mines a little rusty.

I have a project in mind though, you may able able to get these as 1/32 cars in the future thumbsup2.gif

And, for the record, Spirit cars are great. Hate their display boxes (how big!?) and anything over £30 makes me wince but their bloomin good really.

Thanks for that confirmation, Gary! So the old grey matter isn't as bad as I thought. But it looks like I got the Group C bit wrong. Does it mean the car is a contemporary of the Slot-it Nissan? If so, all the more reason for them to produce it.

Carge, I've seen mention of those Arii Toyotas before. In your opinion, are they 1/32 scale? I only have Arii "Owners Club" kits, that are very accurate to scale, but most Japanese motorized kits that I have seen tend to be a little on the big side, despite claiming 1/32. In other words, are they a bit "Vanquish"?

Morning Mr M,
Just measured the Toyota body - looks about right really.
Length 135mm - Width 65mm
Given that most race series specify 65mm as a max axle/tyre width - it sounds pretty spot on for 1/32.

Um, no, Group C is accurate. Did you read that as '98' by any chance biggrin.gif

It pre-dates Slot.it's R390 by nearly ten years...
