> About:

The English Association of HO Racing Clubs (EAHORC) was set up in 2002 to promote club racing of HO scale cars in the UK. Races take place at locations all over the UK and we are always looking for new clubs to align with us. Check out our website for details of future events and a copious archive of past pictures and spreadsheets.

We also stand ready to help any home racers get more from HO, even if the do not wish to or cannot come to races.

Tony and I have discussed race nights with some locals and it is most likely we will race on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. We would like to have an open evening next month on the 7th or the 21st, so i am looking into some advertising in the local press plus contacting other locals that have shown an interest.

That's really exciting. Any help or pointers you need Dave, let me know smile.gif

At WHO, we found posters and leaflets in nearby shops, cafes and laundrettes worked. As did some posted door-to-door and to local schools & libraries. Definitely include a map! I'm happy to do a day's leg-work beforehand.

I should be able to get up for the opening night too.

I would suggest you go for the 21st. I am available either of the days after the next national to help with a leaflet drop.

Classes wise I would suggest Nascar and something based around the Mega-G, as those chassis are currently made and relatively easy to get brand new.

For the open night it would be more a case of running a variety of stuff and getting the locals up to speed so to speak.

This should be cracking. I have not had a regular club since SHORC folded, but I am more excited about what this means for HO in the UK as a whole than myself....

I'm very excited by this. Happy to help with leaflet drops. I think class wise Deane right NASCAR and OW mega g be spot on. But nothing says can run others as one offs. I think this could be very big.

Classes will evolve in time, driven by those that attend and what is out there, but best to start of covering the basics.

There is just something 'right' about Dave's club running Nascar, as he is the best right now.

The long Mega-G would probably be the best bet out of the two, you can run three classes at least on that platform right off the bat. I can get the chassis cheaply with a bit of notice.

If the timing all works well, fingers crossed, the first proper HONK season could start in September round to the following August, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, although it is hard not to.

We haven`t discussed it but I would think to start with, the classes would be as Deane suggests. Long Mega G for open wheel/LMP, no tyre restrictions, and Nascar with its various chassis.
Other classes to follow.

Any specific reason why you've plumped for the 1st and 3rd Thursdays? That'll make it the day after WHO (1st Wednesday) which will be pretty much impossible. No way Hannah can cope with two late nights in a row. I think I'll have a job too!

No particular reason for the 1st and 3rd Thursday, thats just how it was decided. If we had enough interest we would race every thursday.

If you're just thinking of fortnighty, then 2nd and 4th Thursdays might be better. Unless of course it causes any other issues/clashes. It would remove the back-to-back clash with WHO for anybody interested in doing both.
