Wonder how long copper tape would last under the new pickups. Interesting idea though.

The metallic contacts are interesting but what will be the influence on common braided tracks, can them damage the copper braid of the tracks more rapidly?, because steel is harder than copper.
What do you thing people. May be MB Slot can answer my question? -------------------- Best Regards,

I wish they'd change the dreadful guide design. They just snap under the slightest pressure.
Spring steel pickups are going to ruin the protective alloy layer on plastic track and will grind down the metal rails. Awful idea : Lots of other nice goodies, though! |

I´m with you Screwneck, the guides are awful, they have to chage them. And the metalic contact is not a good idea for traditional tracks (ninco, scx etc), the contact will be lost in many cases. But the other stuff looks good

Slot it deep wood guide but with the MB slot coke bottle shape, now there would be a nice guide
Kinda agree on the wear to track with the strips, but we may be wrong. No prices for those wheels ? And wonder what that chassis is for ? an RS200 would be nice ... but I am guessing I am SOL on that, looks too long in the wheelbase -------------------- My old track: Savage Raceway Scalextric Digital with PBPro SH, Pit Pro, RichG lapcounter and SSDC

The chassis looks like a ninco, or a ninco copy, check out the pro-shock suspension mounts.

I thought it looked like a Ninco replacement chassis too, from the shape possibly a BMW M3 GT.
Not sure I follow the logic of the concern that the flat contacts are more abrasive than steel braid, but then tune-up parts for slot cars are way over my head anyway! -------------------- Some notable slot racing quotes

I think it is a NINCO chassis that is showing how the MB Slot parts can be used to upgrade a typical NINCO 4wd vehicle.

I shall be very interested in reports of the performance of the new pick-up blades.
When I started in slots, ~ 1959, commercial guides were not really available. I devised my own from Teflon "T" sections and used phosphor bronze shims as pick-up material. They worked well on the steel rails of my (rubber) Scalextric track. My first experience of a commercial braided track was in California in '62-'63. The phosphor bronze strips were useless. I remade my guides by cutting the strips short (they were bolted on with 00-90 machine screws and nuts) and soldering braid to the stubs. EM -------------------- |

The chassis they are using to display their products is a Ninco Mitsubishi lancer rally car

HI
The question PICK-UP The pickup has a thin blade shaped to enhance performance. Other people have complained about the blade to break. But in discussions with them, the problem was not the pick-up, but the track, with a slot that is too thin. It causes friction and break the blade. I'd say try, carefully assembling the new contacts. Then we shall say a few years time I used the copper wire. Not totally ruined the track -------------------- Marco Ballardini
