As treasurer I’m pleased to announce the following statement on behalf of the club. It’s been agreed by all the committee members and signed off by all.

Supporting Charities’.

The whole idea of our club was to promote the hobby of slot car racing in a positive manner and have fun racing in a structured way. We have to a large extent achieved this. An example is our now, fully booked Dash for Cash Challenge. We were not meant to be a profit making concern. However along with the sponsorship Graham secured last year we have found this to be the case.

Further to the committee meeting held on Wednesday 2nd June 2010 our club now makes monthly contributions to the following charities.
Save the Children £3, SENSE (Deaf/Blind Children) £12, Water-Aid £3, The Brooke (Donkey Hospital) £10 & Operation Smile £10.

This has only been possible because of the support afforded this club by members of this forum and others in the Slot Car community. East Durham Slot Car Club wishes to express in no uncertain terms, it’s gratitude to all those who have supported this little club in such a positive way.
