There are 2 WRCs I need to complete my collection. One is the Suzuki SX4; but I can live without that one. The other is the Escort WRC.

I've seen one in the Repsol/Sainz livery on ebay.es and I thought it was an SCX (Altaya) one but checking Google a few minutes ago it looks like either it was mis-advertised or my memory is failing. What I've found reference to is a Team Slot model. Now, I'm not all that keen on Team Slot's offerings and I suspect the model in question is a resin model - which wouldn't last 5 minutes on my rally stage.

So, I recall someone on the forum posting that they'd re-modelled an SCX Escort Cosworth into an Escort WRC. Can anyone tell me how I'd go about remaking the front bumper and fabricating a rear wing if I went for this option?

TIA

Hello Stuart,

Here is the previous thread, but no sign of an Escort WRC - Linky to SF thread,

Looks like its the rare Team Slot version or nothing. Linky to Caprico Slot Store - I don't know anything about this supplier - only just found them in a Google Image search.

Rear aerofoil looks like the one on a Peugeot 307 or SEAT Cordoba. Front bumper looks challenging to me.

Leo

Edit: Google TEAM SLOT 75001

Final Edit: Below is the WRC version, not to be confused with the standard ones that have a different rear spoiler/aerofoil.

Thank you all for your input. It is indeed the car in Leo's post above I'm after a slot version of. I've got 2 of the SCX GrA Cosworths.

UPDATE
One has appeared on ebay.es this morning. There haven't been any for a month or so.

I've messaged the seller, and he has told me that it's basically a resin shell on an SCX Escos chassis. Glass, lights, interior, motor - all SCX. From his photo, it has the wheels from the Malcolm Wilson car.

I'm tempted...............

You can get 1:32 Oz rally wheels from Pendles (I think)
