Hello

I am new to this forum, however, not that new to slots, about 2 years of collecting/racing now

I just bought a new rally car, I just saw it and really liked the look of it

I have not used many rally cars before, I have set up a Silverstone track and I race F1 on it.

I keep deslotting on the ‘crossover. Part of my track (where inside lane changes to outside and vica versa’

Has anyone got any tips on keeping this thing on the track, do rally cars corner differently from my F1’s

Lewis has never gone off there!!

Also can I have any tips of why one of my cars headlights keeps flicking while im driving, I guess it’s a loose wire?

Thank you all

PS here is the link for the car

Hi the raly cars are a different kettle of fish like the 1:1 counterparts they have a higher centre of gravity so do require different driving i.e. slower round the bends, but you will get used to it.
from your post i take it you have a scalectric sport / digital set up?? if so the lights will flash when going over lane change tracks as they lose connection for a second the inside is plastic so that there is no wires touching and shorting out. try driving very slowly and you will stop @ any cross over as you lose connection between the car's braids and track rails if its happening more often mabe the front end is lifting under accelaration and causing a break in current again? check all your connections if you have a big track have you got booster cables mayhelp if having poor connections see this link for any help >>>>>>track maintanence<<<<<<

i may have not explained light thing clearly

thank you for the help on corners though, i will try hone my skills!! (guess im not as good as i thought lmfao.gif )

must admit, the rally cars seem great fun though, my mate has a punto rally car, any ideas where i can get one, he got his from a boot sale!

you might try "buffing " up the tyres on sandpaper to make them flat , i find that this helps enormously ! Also , if you are using sport track try and remember that scalextric cars are designed to run on this stuff , i find that my other makes of cars don't always seem happy to be on sport track but if you race like for like this eliminates the problem as you are both in the same boat ! only my thoughts of course , happy racing thumbsup.gif

I think the answer of SpZero is basically it. The center of gravity of Rally cars is obviously higher than F1 so you have to be more carefull on the curves. The answer to the other question that was not explicitly formulated which is: why does my scalextric rally car s...k but the Ninco car is great?
The reason (I am going to be vague here) is because the Ninco cars are much better designed (making a lower center of gravity and better wheel support).

have had similar problems with some of my cars deslotting on crossovers-check for any damage on the crossover plastic bit in the middle and also the guide blade on the car. usually a little tweak with emery cloth and its sorted. also check the blade isnt too deep on the crossover by running it through by hand and feeling for any restriction.

the headlight issue is prolly a bad solder joint-if you are any where near me(s wales-bridgend area) pm me and i'll see if i cant resolder it for you
