Hello to all slot racers!

The next meeting of the Bangkok Slot Car Club is on Sunday, August 24, 2008, 11am-5pm.

We will be racing at the Londoner Brew Pub in Bangkok, Thailand. For this weekend, we are constructing a replica of the new Valencia street circuit that will host the 2008 European Grand Prix later in the evening. The track is constructed of Scalextric Sport Track, with variable power and computerized timing. Results are displayed on giant screen TVs. The race is open to all club members and visitors - we want to give a warm welcome to ALL racers from around the world. After the slot race, we will relax in the pub and watch the European Grand Prix live via satellite.

The Londoner Brew Pub is very conveniently located on Sukhumvit Road Soi 33, in one of the main business/entertainment districts of central Bangkok. It is very easy to get to pub from all major hotels. There is plenty of free parking in the building. Any taxi driver will know how to get this location. The pub is also very easy to reach via the excellent public train and subway. Family friendly, the Londoner has a very large, comfortable floor plan, and there is plenty of fantastic food and drink on hand. The Londoner has become an excellent venue for our club meetings.

The Bangkok Slot Car Club invites all slot racers throughout Thailand, and around the world, to join us for an afternoon of fun. If you're into slot cars, and you're in Bangkok, please stop by the Londoner.

September 7, 2008 - Next meeting of the Bangkok Slot Car Club.

We're meeting at the Londoner Brew Pub in Bangkok on Sunday, September 7, 2008. This is a great motorsports weekend, with the Belgian Grand Prix televised live in the Londoner after the Scalextric racing. The Londoner Brew Pub is a great venue, located in the heart of one of central Bangkok's most vibrant entertainment districts.

Our last meeting on August 24th was a big success. We've been getting more and more people coming to the meetings, and August 24th was the biggest crowd yet. We had 24 registered racers, and many more spectators. Our track was a loose replica of the new Valencia street circuit. The track was tight and very technical, and it took some time for the drivers to adjust their style from the previous meeting when we raced on a replica of Magny Cours.

The Bangkok Slot Car Club races on Scalextric Sport Track. We use variable power and computerized timing. All racers around Thailand, and the world, are welcome. If you are ever in Bangkok, please join us for a fun day of racing!

September 14th, 2008 - Next meeting of the Bangkok Slot Car Club

Hello to all slot racers,

We'll be meeting at the Londoner Brew Pub in Bangkok.
Sukhumvit Road at Sukhumvit Soi 33.

Racing starts at Noon. We'll finish around 5:30pm, after which we'll watch the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix live via satellite.

We race 1/32 scale on Scalextric Sport Track. Bring whatever cars you have - we race everything - Scalextric, Ninco, SCX, Carrera, Revell, Artin, Fly, GB, Airfix, Strombecker, Cox, Cartrix, Pro Slot, Avant Slot, Spirit, Varney, GSlot, scratch built, etc.

Everyone is welcome!

NEXT RACE - Saturday, January 10, 2009

Location: Central Department Store Ramintra, on Ramintra Road, north Bangkok.
Time: 12 noon until 6 pm

The Bangkok Slot Car Club will conduct a slot car exhibition in the central plaza.

Here are some photos of the Bangkok Slot Car Club's exhibition on January 10, 2009 at the Central World Ramintra shopping mall. The track was a big hit with all of the kids and parents. 600 drivers raced on the track during the day. We used super resistant Audi TTs and Porsche Boxsters with voltage set at 8 volts. That was enough power to have exciting racing and thousands of crashes, but low enough to prevent cars from launching into the crowd.

Club members were on hand to demonstrate driving techniques and tuning tips.

February 15th, 2009 - Next meeting of the Bangkok Slot Car Club

Time: 12noon until 6pm (or later)

Bring your cars and controller. Plenty of easy parking on the street. The clubhouse is a short walk from the Phra Khanong BTS skytrain station.
