Rolf Schneidereit from SlotFire was at Nürnberg showing his latest track: SlotFire Digital incorporating DAVIC Digital power and BLST lane change technology from David Caille. The system is called: SlotFire Racingline.

Designed for 8 cars on 2 lanes with an optimal racing line being chosen automatically by the system.

Anti-collision is managed by automatically bringing faster cars out of the racing line and moving them into a position for overtaking.

The track is built on 19mm MDF CNC routed slot, stainless steel braid, smooth grey painted surface, DAVIC power and lap timer for 8 digital cars, laser cut flippers.

Sensors under the track calculate car positions and traffic density and switch the LC flippers accordingly.

This system is large enough for 1:24 cars (Lanes are about 11 cm apart). 1:32 do look a little small after racing the bigger 1:24 scale cars, but if you keep to 1:32, you won't have this issue. To give you an idea of the size, the cars on the track in these photos are 1:24 scale.

A micro-switch (above) allows you to select the LC rules for the track piece: Keep to the line, or change lane when there is heavy traffic in the area. Setting this for each LC piece allows interesting and un-predictable racing. You can set different rues for similar curves around the track.

We agreed that the system looked great. Rolf had a demo mode where the cars raced around by themselves. It was mesmerizing. Sure there were a couple of shunts, but there seemed to be less of them. Thumbs up from Swissracer and myself - even though the system may be quite expensive, it is up and running (a few minor tweaks still to sort out) and they will be taking orders. This will be a hit with moto-racing corporate hospitality organizers and discerning private racers.

Download the brochure of the SlotFire Racingline system here.

SlotFire's new banked 180-degree curve was on display. Very smooth running. I'm sure that our American friends will like this for their oval tracks. It sure makes for fast-paced racing. Full throttle all the way except for a light release on the flat-curve in the foreground.

Hello,

Quite a remarkable system with some stunning technology, which I couldn't even begin to think about let alone build. As it is geared up for the Corporate market I presume I would have to win the Euro Lottery rollover to afford it.

Never mind all that, this Slotfire Racing Line layout looks absolutely brilliant. Well done thumbsup.gif .

That really does look good!
Couple of questions though, do you have to modify your cars at all to race on it? i'm guessing you do, and if so, what do you have to do?
And also anybody got any clues at to roughly how much it is?
Cheers.

Hi all,

This track use DAVIC System for cars and lap counter (not for lane change) , so, you just have to add DAVIC chip between guide and motor to race on.

prices will be available in april.

more details on this topic

regards

BRILLIANT, I'd say you've set the high water mark for Lane change technology.

David,

Excellent, after a long wait it's nice to see BSLT come to life! Congratulations, now only if it didn't cost an arm and a leg to import to Canada. Could electonics "kit" pakages for L/C control be an option for overseas enthusiasts with existing layouts be an option?

I'm sure many people would be excited by this prospect.

Not to sure about Canada, the cost is in the clouds for UK buyers as well. No problem if you are a company that wants to keep its staff happy. For the home setup, well, way out of my league. There must be a cheaper way?????
I’m looking at building a routed track for fun, and BLST seems the way to go. But, that cost?
Also, it all seems to be 6 lanes. I only want 2. That Spa track…but my own lay out.
