Woops don't know whats hapend there question.gif There is no right way up, as far as I'm aware so long you connect the the wires right it usually works question.gif even then there is margin for error the number of times I put the car on the track and it shoots off backwards innocent.gif

Unlucky sad.gif

Recently found this site very impressed lots of information. Thought you would like my list of modified cars which is as follows -

Scalextric S4C Mini
Red GT40
Subaru from box set
Focus from box set, front lights fitted
Ninco Fiat Punto
Austin Healy hardtop, front and rear lights fitted
Spirit Reynard 2KQ
Lola B2K/10
Fly Mecedes Benz Atego 1998
Mecedes Benz Atego 1999
Cartrix Z3 Hardtop, front lights fitted
Vanquish Lotus 72
Slot Indy 98 Agajanian Special

Some required a little bit of butchery, the Z3, Lotus 72, 98 Agajanian Special
beingf the most tricky. Where lights are fitted, originally or by me, I always fit a 1N4001 diode off the green wire connection on the chip to provide protection against noise spikes, failure of the chip, and future SSD modifications made by Scalextric damaging the LED's. If anybody wants more details the please contact me direct.

Hi there,
I chipped my first SSD car on last Weekend. I selected an SCX Audi TT R. No problems found. The car runs great on my track. Currently the lights are on no break light function. I will tray on next weekend to bring the break light to work.

Volker

I chipped the new Scaley Ferrari. She's a beat! I thought she'd be competition for my Boxsters, but not as fast. Average lap times 4.2-4.5 seconds compared to 3.6-4.0 for the Boxsters. Actually, it compares better with the Audi. The Audi is quicker, but the Ferrari handles better.

I chipped a Ford GT40 today with an F1 chip. Very tight. Burned my fingers with the soldering iron and cut another finger with an exacto knife (cutting out some extra hot glue) sad.gif . I think it was worth it. It's fast, but doesn't handle as well as the Scaley ferrari or Boxsters.

It's a Scaley. Do the Fly GT40s chip easily? Do they perform better than the Scaley's when chipped? I'm still looking for a car that competes with the Boxsters.

Strange one then as my Scalex one is one of my favorite cars its the one of the fastest it's the one I use for any testing as I know it will always perform biggrin.gif

Bleep, maybe it's the magnets in the Boxsters. I do have a very short and twisty track. The GT40 is fast, but my longest straight is only about 6 feet. I'm guessing the Boxsters have stronger magnets than the stock GT40.
