Well it was about time I had another project and with lots of help from Jon at MrC it's finally on its way. Parma Holeshot chassis will have Pro Slot G20 motor and if my memory serves me well Speed Secrets wheels and tyres. When finished it's going to be flame red with white detailing.

What dya think?

Yup it's on speed secrets, tho they may need a slight shave on the outer edge depending on the bushes/bearings used in the final assembly

Hi Steve,

Looks neat, what body is that ?

As for chassis, I'd still go for a longer wheeliebars. Makes the car more stabile, especially with the G20.
I have a friend (Vesa) who used to experiment with short wheeliebars a lot. Guess where he got his nickname "The Flying V" rolleyes.gif

I'd also add wheeliebar braces and a brace that ties the motor plate and rear axle uprights together.
That helps keeping the gear mesh in control. Do not underestimate the amount of torque G20's have.

Cheers,
Osku

Hi Steve

Very pure bodyshape, is it resin or styrene?

About the chassis, I agree 100% with what Osku said, you need bracing everywhere.

I am not even too sure the Holeshot chassis can stand a strong G20.
It is made of the same cheap steel than the Edge and the roundy slots FlexiII which is not very strong.
The Edge is stiff (actualy too stiff) because of the U shape but the Holeshot is more or less flat so maybe in the end the best choice could be a G12 or a S16D, not sure but a possibility.
Best chassis material choice to handle a G20 is spring steel.

If I remember well, you've had some problems at one time with ripping Sonic crowns on some of your cars and switched to cheaper & foolproof Parma 48 pitch gears.
This is too bad because it makes a car with less potential but possibly the cause for it was too much flex in the ''gearbox'' and a gearmesh that varies at launch so trying to brace it could be worth it.

Cheers
Fred

Wheelie bars being lengthened and braced, motor bracket also being braced as we speak. Thanks for the tips.

Not sure about the make of the body, feels like Styrene.

Hi Steve,

Looks like a styrene body too if you look how thin it is.
I mean, a resin body that thin would have a strenght of a potato chip wink.gif

Osku

Hi Osku, I'm hoping to give it some shakedown runs in Malta. The MrC season of racing in the UK is now finished, so no chance for me to test it.
