With all 4 of my Scalextric's garages full with race look cars:

pair of Sierra RS Cosworth's - Black and Red
pair of Focus Challenge Rally cars - Red and White
pair of Cooper Challenge Mini's - Red and Yellow
pair of Might Metros - Red/White and Blue/Yellow

Not to mention on the slip road:

a Evo8 rally car -Factory team
a DTM Astra V8 - Ouste (I think) Green and Yellow
a BTCC Ford Mondeo - Factory team

Im really looking to expand my road cars which I think look better on my small track as it looks more like a 'Run What ya Brung' day rather than a all out race day.

Could anyone recommend any nice budget (under £30) cars, at present i have the Silver Audi TT and Red Porsche Boxer from the Road Rivals set, a Merc SLR, Ford GT, Alfa 156 GTA, Lambo Diablo, Caterham 7, Austin Heally 3000, Mertroplitan Police Vetrca and Italian Police VW Golf and want to branch out.

I got my eye on the new Yellow Lambo from the set with the Range Rover and maybe the Twin pack of Ferrari's in Red and Silver but is there any other nice sporty maybe not supercar cars out there?

You've got a mixture of modern and classic in your collection already but which do you prefer?
On a small layout like yours it may be worth going for cars that are more suited to short tracks.
Have you thought about taking the magnets out and going for a bit of rear end slide action? It's satisfying to "shape" a magless car around a small circuit.
Do you do any tuning to your cars? Tyre truing makes a load of difference.

As to recommending any particular cars it's difficult as everyones tastes are different. Have a browse through the Scalextric section of Ebay and you will no doubt spot many things you like the look of. It may be worth getting the most out of the cars you have before you spend your hard earned cash on some more.

Keep us informed of your progress.

On my track even some of the cars with magnets have trouble with the tight turns and cross-overs as it makes the turn tighter if you know what I mean.

The Scalextric Cosworths will tip up on the straights if you're not careful.. biggrin.gif
Try truing the tyres, you'll find the cars will corner much smoother.

Fly do a nice alfa 156 in plain colours which look fab, its also a racing version so it goes like a rocket too.
Fly also make the alfa 147 in plain colours, red, white and a green, these come with a lady driver figure and work well on magnectic track.
Policar do an alfa in plain red but the quality is poor! (made from a recycled milk container!)

Carrera make alot of plain road versions, mustang, new and old, and convertables, and some older type cars, like D type jag in plain livery etc.
scx do some tuning versions of their cars as do ninco, like the BMW 3 series GTR and toyota supra.

Most of the above appear on ebay at reasonable prices.
