Trouble at Scuderia wombat

Top Argentinean ace Carlos Reutermann has said he will not race on Friday ohmy.gif in protest at what he says is “unfair favoritism of he’s teammate”

It is well known in the paddock that he was very unhappy mad.gif when the talented young Brazilian, Carlos Pace was given the latest upgraded BT44 to race. Pace has been testing in secret and has had some impressive results. thumbsup.gif

We may have some guests on Friday so if you have some spare cars, it will be appreciated.

Force Clacton will be out in strength, No 2 driver 'Mike' has been told what he is racing.

Friday will also see the March debut, still unfinished but development has been rushed forward. Driver still unknown but "headless at the moment".

Al, please have a spare transformer on the van wink.gif

Come on Fred, let us in mate, guests eh, whoever could it be? Back to the matter in hand, i am looking forward to this, after guiding Carlos Reutemann to victory in round one thanks to a loan from Scuderia Wombat i should be making the race debut of the Tyrrell 008, Patrick Depailler behind the wheel of course. I must say i do like the team names we have here, Scuderia Wombat, Force Clacton, Scuderia Scudbong, good stuff chaps. biggrin.gif

Very good night last night, the racing was so close, i think this class is working out very well. As for myself, i was a bit dissapointed i didnt get pole so i was left in an outside lane for the final, still thats the way it goes, sometimes everything falls into place, (last week) and sometimes things dont quite go as you would like. I think the 008 has the speed it just tips in the corners a bit when i try to push on, it was ok in the final for the first two minutes when we where all side by side but when Pete dropped it and Fred and Al really put the hammer down i just couldn't go with them, still third isn't the end of the world and i dont think anyone has a truly sorted car yet so we will have to see whats what in round three. Well done though Fred, that was a good one to win mate. thumbsup.gif

Good discription Chris.

Your Tyrell 008 was looking good. Have you tried squeezing some lead in ? Also, I would sand the outside edge off the tyre. If it is square to the surface of the track, there is a tendency for a car to dig in and tip over. If it is a bit rounded, then you get a little slide before it tips.

The March was good, it was one of those cars that you throw together and it works. I was worried that due to its age, something would break or come loose, but it held on. I can see some wombatty style tactics at last, He starts slow and stalks, avoiding the first corner dash and hopes to then pick up the pieces and have a strong finish........I'm on to you Al wink.gif

The comeback kid, AKA Scudbong was the real surprise package. 'Oh what if he had sorted his car out properly............'

I felt sorry for Chris though, if it wasn't for that unscheduled pit stop in blue lane, first choice was a real possibility.
Final position for the top three in the heats were :

  1. Fred = 66.2
  2. Alan = 65.8
  3. Chris = 65.8

Alan getting second choice by virtue of a 22.6 highest distance to Chris 22.4 on white lane.
Another half a lap and Chris would have won the heats sad.gif

I may offer a drive to Teapot at Force Clacton. He is under performing ph34r.gif

Enjoyed our visit last night.Nice club and a neat track.
Unusual class but interesting. We tried a couple of types of tyre and grip methods so hopefully we have a good idea what we will need for the next round of EARL.
Thanks for the hospitality,Graeme.

Another great nights racing clap.gif I cant remember enjpying coming second so much.... Great final Fred thumbsup.gif
If they are all like that, Im going to need Tranquilizers wacko.gif

I thought Vics drive with the Macca was good enought for the A, until Scudbongs sorted his front axle. It just demonstrates how important car prep is.

Right guys, this may be seen as a rash decision but the Tyrrell 008 has been retired, i just cant see how i can get the front down any lower, Al has had a look at it, taken the Scuderia Wombat Dremel to it and come to the same conclusion, so all avenues have been exhausted, its a shame as its not a million miles away but its still tippy when it really matters. Anyway i have made a new purchase, i wont say what it is but i will say this, its open pan and Jean Pierre Jarier will be in F1 round three. Go on "Jumper" biggrin.gif

Yup, it was a cracking A final, all four of us on the same lap after three minutes, and with it being a 6.5 ish second lap i think that tells its own story.
