Risk?

I think all 500 will fly out!
Then ofcourse you will see a small percentage on eBay for amazingly stupid prices.

Me thinks you may be confusing Escorts with Skodas!

2000 clean Escorts Eaton Yale.
1000 dirty Escorts Eaton Yale.

500 NSCC SCX Skodas! (for which the NSCC takes all the risk)

On the dirty livery please can the SCX workers clean the front and rear lights, number plates and door numbers before the brown paint dries so as the car will be legal for the next road section on the rally. Ta! thumbsup.gif

Or Scalextric dribble.gif They have done the same with Escort Mk-I (release a car twice innocent.gif )

Future Mk-II livery looks nice; I have the red one and i'm sure that SCX will do a nice job with the new livery dribble.gif

Im 100% behind you that one.

Id buy atleast 10 and then sit in a dimly lit room and just be with them .................. now thats heaven!
Talking of heaven - not sure if current recycling legislation would allow it but id even be buried with my SCX TR7................ SCX TR7 just saying it makes me tingle!

OK time to take the pills

Yes i was confused with skodas and escorts lol but the statement still rings true, these will fly off the shelves and the muddy ones will still reach a premium on ebay.

Picture update.

In my haste i posted the wrong picture! - sorry. (the first image is the wrong year/car!!!!)

This is the car being made;

Clean

Muddy

Just for the eagle eyed amongst will spot that in the clean pic the Daily Mirror logo (just below the wing mirror) is missing, but visable on the dirty. The logo must have blown off in the wind (see extra tape applied to the corner). The clean and dirty livery will feature the Daily Mirror logo panel. And no, before you ask the muddy will not be EXACTLY as shown!

Another car that I cannot wait for... dribble.gif Cheers for the images. thumbsup.gif

P.S. Tell someone to do a TR7, please, please, please. innocent.gif

This one looks to have wider wheels?

Great to see SCX issuing more MK 2's, but how about some of the lesser known liveries?
The most successful Works MK 2 of all was JJN 974N, driven by the Belgian Gibert Staepelaere.
It's initial livery was in gloss black with red and green pinstriping, in reference to main sponsor Castrol.
This car won close to 30 International rallies around Europe, so surely SCX could consider a replica of such a beautiful and successful car?
How about the Escorts from the '76 Monte Carlo, with the Zakspeed style wheel arches? Or Ari Vatanen's Shell-MCD Escort from '82?
Or what about the very first MK 2? HHJ 700N? Roger Clark first drove it on the '75 Granite City Rally (and won!) and the livery? plain white.
Just some ideas, I wonder has anyone got any other suggestions? Cheers.

In response to Mudchukka, how could I forget John Taylor's Haynes of Maidstone Escort? John Taylor was the first driver to win the Irish Tarmac Championship back in '78 . How about Andy Dawson's '77 RAC Escort? Waldegaards '78 Swedish Rally winner? Roger Clark's Li-Lo liveried Escorts from the '78 Open Championship, Mikklolas '78 Welsh Rally winner? The list is endless!

Sorry guys i didn't make it clear in the news post. The pic is of die cast model not the real slot car yet. As soon as i get a decent prototype shot of the livery i will post it. As far as i know - no plans for wider wheels and anyway the wheels/tyres were swapped many times for different stage types during the event so pinning down a correct style is impossible.

One thing i know that is being looked into is Left Hand Drive rather than Right as the current versions.

Hi Gareth

I hope SCX will do the 1975- and 1978 RAC winning cars as well, so we would have all the Escort MK2 RAC rally winners complete on the slottrack. rolleyes.gif
Thereafter, the only missing Escort winning RAC rally car would be the light bleu MK1 of Timo Mäkinen.
So, Scalextric, please give it a go.

The Andrews heat for Hire Escort MK2 of Russell Brookes, with his nice colours, is also a beautiful option for SCX to produce.
Great to see the winning Mikkola MK2 of the Portugal Rally 1979 in the new Altaya collection. smile.gif

The Escort is the right model choise for rally fans.
I am very happy with it.

Yep, that Heat for Hire is very nice as well!!

Pff, I'm not sure to buy them all, I want one because they are great cars (SCX) and they are limited. But of course I could buy other cars with the same money. smile.gif
