Quick correction on the Motor.
The motor is not the RX4 it's a RX42B. -------------------- |

This looks like a lovely little car, when is it coming out? I agree about the size of those helmets, there massive helmets!
Will this be realeased as a track car as well? I have the same question about the Alpine and the new Scalextric Mini Cooper. I don't collect rally cars and i'd rather not have to repaint these ones. Anyway, well done SCX this is a very good subject. Cheers Pete -------------------- ![]() Real men don't use magnets!!! |

Very nice indeed. I just hope the whole bonnet doesn't light up because of bleed from the front lamps.

SCX are creating such great cars but I can't stand the guide system. When will they develop a new system that doesn't break.

Lovely! Defnite must have, love these old rally cars.
This takes bigheadedness to a new level. As well, bit of mud on the windows and nobody will notice. Jay -------------------- "Anything happens in car racing ... and it usually does!"

Just to let you know an example of this car will be on display on the NSCC table at the Milton Keynes swapmeet this Sunday (28th Sept).

A mid-engined Renault 8... yeah right.
Is it that hard to put a transverse motor behind the rear-axel for more realistic behavior... |

SCX are creating such great cars but I can't stand the guide system. When will they develop a new system that doesn't break. Certainly a must have, but that dreadfull guide................... Hmmm! Personally, I'm still waiting for a guide problem and I doubt there is anybody who races more SCX cars than I do! But I did notice that your two entries in the "Unsung Heroes" proxy were being reported as bad de-slotters Alexis. Do you run larger front tyres or something? Which model(s) have you experienced breakage on, Slots-O-Fun? And how did the failure occur? With Milton Keynes swapmeet coming up, we checked over the club cars on Monday night - these are used on a regular basis by members of the public as well as lane cars for the club members - and not a single guide related issue was found on an SCX car, though several Astons had stripped their crown gear. Yet several Ninco Clios had snapped their "guide holder" out of the chassis. The track owner already keeps a big stock of Ninco M3 and 307 chassis because of this problem. Yet I can't recall a comment about Ninco chassis being weak. With our twelve hour endurance for SCX cars now just a week and a half away, I'm sure we will find out just how reliable the hardware is! BTW Jexy, are you sure about that motor spec? 42B is usually fitted in cars with motor pod, I would expect this to have a 41B. And your majesty, it would be very hard for them to fit an SCX motor across this little car. Not that the 8 was transverse motored anyway. We are honoured by your presence, though -------------------- Just remember! If you find a car undrivable, it might not be the car's fault!

Got to agree with Mr M - never had a SCX guide break on me either in all the time I've been using them.
De-slotting can be cured by a little weight between the motor and front axle sorts out my SCX problems - Panda, Alpine and Cossie Escort have all benefited from this low technology upgrade. But of course "I would say that!" -------------------- www.tarnmodelfoundry.co.uk
