On last week-end, my brother was in Italy for the 2008 Edition of the Slotlandia Toy Fair from Novegro. He brought back a complete photo report about slot news presented there. Here are some of his pics.

NSR news
A lot of news were launched by NSR at Slotlandia. Main event was the presentation of the brand new Fiat Grande Punto Abarth S2000. The car looks very agressive, and was very fast on the Slotlandia track. A lot of liveries of the new Porsche 917K were also presented.

Slot.it news
A lot of new models were launched on Slot.it area. Main attractions were the first two versions of the new Ferrari F40 and the Le Mans 1989 Winner Set containing three Sauber-Mercedes C9. Reliveries of the Porsche 962 ("Fortuna"), McLaren F1 GTR ("Loctite"), and Audi R8C Reloaded ("Infineon") were also present. In addition to these new models, Slot.it created the surprise, announcing a new digital system called Oygen. This new system will allow to use 20 cars per track, up to four tracks.

Finally, the Ferrari F40!

The "Le Mans 1989 Winner" set ,containing three Sauber C9, is awesome.

Racer news
Racer launched at Slotlandia a brand new Fiat 500 Abarth, which will be the first model of an economical serie called "Silver Line". These models will be sold for 99 euros. Other attraction, the new Alfa 33/3 was presented in a few different liveries.

Ninco news
Ninco was the only non italian brand to show new slot products. The spanish manufacturer lauched reliveries of the AC Cobra and the Porsche 911 GT3R.

Slotlandia is organised by Italiaslot, (who will have a full report in Italian that is well worth a read with the use of a translation site btw)

We can not bring you a full report this year but Edo made the trip with his trusty buttonhole camera and pestered everyone for us smile.gif

So we can at least let you feast your eyes a little longer with more pics.

I am hoping I can persuade the manufacturers concerned to come in and add some explanations to go with Franky's above..

In no particular order:

Slot.It...

Note the disappointed fan in the background as Mr Ferrari refuses to sign any more autographs wink.gif ...

Racer...

The first Silverline liveries. Width of this car is 5cm if anyone wants to make a quick scale comparison...

Apologies, pictures removed for now at the request of Racer pending final permission from Abarth.

NSR...

Now these are starting to look VERY tasty smile.gif ...

and for the 1/24 buffs,
BRM...

Man, at first glance I thought those long-tailed Alfas were Slot-Its. Damn, I want them bad, but it's gonna be hard to justify any more Racers in this economy. I wonder if Maurizio will eventually modify the Alfa molds to do 'em. wink.gif

The Racer Alfa is different altogether than the Slot-it car.It would have to be a completely new model..still,you never know...
On a slightly different topic, has anyone else noticed what appear to be some photo-etch bits with the BRM cars?

The economy in USA has been "in crapper" for a very long time by now. It's only just now gotten from real bad to even worse, as the Bush smokescreen is finally being blown away (cough, cough...) ohmy.gif
I guess these new & nice Slotlandia cars has been in the project pipeline for quite some time, only now surfacing, coinciding with the present shaky world economics.
Bad timing, or what?

Moving to Europe wont help, not England at least. Seems we're following you boys "down the crapper"! Try France, different banking system. Not getting screwed like the rest of us.
