The sixth Goodwood themed night will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday 14th April 2009.
Entry fee for this wonderful night of fun is a mere £3.00! There are six classes, so every driver will take part in 24 races.
The classes will be as follows:

Saloon cars over 2 litres, pre 1968
Pre war GP cars
Front engined post war GP cars
Saloon cars under 2 litres, pre 1968
Rear engined GP cars, 1960 - 1967
Fifties Tourist Trophy

Hard bodies only.
Wheels, tyres, chassis, guides, and motors are free choice, but remember this is a "Spirit" of Goodwood night. We're only here to have fun.

Well I'm very excited now about April 14th.

Saloon cars over 2 litres, pre 1968... better get busy on the Jag when I get home then!
Pre war GP cars... I'm sure I can find something biggrin.gif
Front engined post war GP cars... oh yes!
Saloon cars under 2 litres, pre 1968... blimey, that's a lot of work!
Rear engined GP cars, 1960 - 1967... how do stock Scaleys run?
Fifties Tourist Trophy... now we're talking. If I can find an Allen key to fir the wheels I'll bring my D-Type. Otherwise... Porsche 550 coupe

Are Penelope Pitlane chassis OK for the open wheel cars? Otherwise I've got a Pink Kar Bugatti and a bunch of Scaleys to choose from.

Penelope Pitlane chassis are fine. Most of us run Pink Kar Bugattis, but there's only one rule at this club, and that is "You must enjoy yourself".
Re: Rear engined GP cars, 1960 - 1967... how do stock Scaleys run? Answer: very well, especially the Eagle.
Re: Saloon cars under 2 litres, pre 1968....most of us run Revell Cortinas and NSU TT's, but I expect to see a Scalextric Cortina or two next month.

I might have to find something suitable pretty pronto then. I've got some kits and bits on the way but getting a big saloon and a tiddler built in a fortnight could be fun! RTR I've only got a Scaley Mini-Cooper that's a bit more Col de Turini than Goodwood!

I haven't run the Eagle yet I went straight for Jim Clark!

Errrm... update!

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to wait another month to join you chaps. My three weeks in the UK between events have been cancelled in one fell swoop because apparently the Bahrain GP can't happen without me, so my palm has been crossed with silver and I'm staying put until after the 26th April. Looks like May will be the first opportunity I get to come racing.

Disappointedly yours...

Silver helps pay for more slot cars so it could be a blessing in disguise.

BWA motors make the Revell cars with slimline motors much more driveable, I haven't worked out how you chop the shaft to make it fit a scaley car.

You can still bring it along for us to dribble over......

Or you could just try it out against a PINK KAR version to see how well it goes.

When we used to run the historic night, we ran Fly Classics and Power sledges. For the next meeting in May maybe we could reintroduce them? What does we thinks?

Those cars that fit the pre-68 era, in keeping with the Goodwood Revival, would include Fly's Ferrari 250GTO, 250LM, 275LM, Porsche 906, Lola T70, and Ford GT40. I don't know much about Powersledge cars, but I believe that the only powersledge car that fits the Goodwood theme is the Ferrari 158.
As all of the above are eligible for one or more of our current classes, I don't see the point.
Maybe we should run a seperate "Vintage" series for those of us who want to run Powersledges, or the seventies era Fly classics.
