Modelled on the test car livery, the Peugeot 908 endurance racing car is a welcome addition to the range, enhancing the current Scalextric Le Mans offerings which include Porsche, Audi, Aston Martin and Ferrari. The chassis includes our standard DPR facility so that the car can easily be fitted with a DPR chip for use on Scalextric Digital. High detailing and perfect decoration are standard.

History: 2008: At Le Mans, three 908s were entered and the team started on pole position as they had in 2007. The Peugeots finished an impressive second, third, and fifth. Peugeot won the 2007 championship.

Features: Digital Plug Ready - fit a digital chip in 30 seconds! High detail. Magnatraction with two magnet positions. Quick-change braid plate. Lights, front and rear.

Reference No: C2898
Class: Endurance

Wow, that is a cracking looking car. Wouldn't it look great alongside the Audi? Detailing is sublime, even for a plain black car!

Just what the world needs - another slot model of this car.

Still, at least the black livery might convince a few present hunting Grannies and Aunties that it is a Batmobile and see it shift a few units pre-Christmas.

Actually, all sarcasm aside, I would love to know the logic behind Hornby releasing this car now. It’s by no means a new or famous car, many others have already issued models of it, so why this car now?

Can it be that Hornby have seen the success SCX and Carrera have had in their respective home markets and know that the Scalextric biased UK market is still untapped?

If I recall correctly there are 4 Pugs outthere: Carrera, Avantslot, SCX and now Scalectrix. Looks for me like the best rendering of a Pug so far. very nice wheels.

But I prefer the race version – and of course the 2008 livery, witch is much nicer than that in 2007. wink.gif
Like this one (here my picture of #8 at Nurburgring 2008, winner of that round)

Word around the campfire is that the tooling for this car was started some time ago- first as the LM version, then a WEC (or whatever it is called now) version, then back to LM. Throw in the usual licensing dramas and there's the story.

On the Car parked in front of my house it also says Peugeot, and HDi FAP only the number is 101 too low ...and it is less fast. Thats the reason why I will buy this Scaley.

Oh and anyone seen pictures of the new Scalex Roush Orange Mustang - now that is a BAD car - when i say BAD i do not mean that in a good way!!!!!!!!!!!! C2888 is the ref code. Orange dash board and rear parcel shelf - just like the BMW.

It's a bit lacking in Gallic charm, isn't it? Even with a bit of blue and white on it in race trim, it's still not got any va va voom. Oh no, that's Renault. Well you know what I mean.

There's just no je ne sais quoi to it. More... pourquoi. As in 'pourquoi another 908?'

AFX are also doing a 908, but at the moment nobody knows which one or ones.

Is there a site where I can see all the various color schemes that have been used?

Google search for images is quite helpful for this.

Nah, its the stig!!!

I'm all for it, lets have more models of cars that overtake in real life, and maybe with HONDA pulling out of the F1 procession, we may get a serious ACURA LMP LeMans entry for the Scaley boys to model! (Aware of the current ninco mods)
