i just started messing around with some rfid tags from http://www.tikitag.com/
i thought it would be interesting to stick a tag on a car and you could have instant access to a history of the car. for example if the timing software and RFID tags would save the data for the car in a database, like best lap times, wins loss etc. i almost think that an RFID reader could be used under the track for some sort of timing. it would also be great for Proxy races as the track owners would not have to worry about any paperwork. they would just have to race the car and the tags would upload all the data to a cpu or website. this could really save time and give the participants instant access to their results. just a thought for someone else to think about. |

You need to talk with Rubenio. He developed GP-Slot and had the ide to use RF tags to allow more cars on the track, automatic IDing of cars, and loads more. It seemed a long stretch at the time, but I'm pretty sure he bottomed most issues....
