Thanks for the kind comments guys as i said before it makes it all worth while.

I will go with the fence at the back of the pits and if i think it will ook good i will stick one on the front. Thanks for all the input on this.

The next job on the list is to start work on the small paddock area which is the other side of the tunnel. I have a few plans in my head which i will start in a few weeks. I also want to build a camera stand for to go behind/above the new fencing and a marshal hut from scratchto put somewhere, possibly the "island".

Datto, thanks for the correct spelling but i'm afraid i'm not going to alter my Blimp.

Cheers,

Pete

Although progress of my track is slow and this thread is quiet i have actually done a few things and been quite busy. This is a small taster of some of the new things that i have put together for Cuckoo Pines. As of yet i haven't taken them too my parents where the track is but i will do soon. I have also built a scrutineering hut but i will leave that as a surprise and take some pictures when it is on the track.

N.A.R.T Pit crew (North American Racing Team)

Pedro Rodrigeuz has a healthy 2 second lead

I have had this converted Ford Pickup for a few years, but it needed a clean up and then a dirty up! I think it is perfect for my track

This was my first adventure with Balsa wood and i am fairly happy with the result, it just needs a ladder.

Finally, Joel Thura converted this Army Truck into a slot truck? a few years ago, he was selling it and when i said i'd like it for my track he gave it to me.

When i go to my parents and the weather warms up i will take some more pictures "on location" and show off the scrutineering hut.

Thanks,

Pete

Well it has been a while since i updated this thread but i have had this week off work and i was able to go to my parents today and do a few hours work. Most of the new features were made at my house and i mainly placed new things on the track and glued things into place. The main feature is the addition of the scrutineering bay which is finished but i need to work it into the scenery some more with the aid of some weeds and bushes growing up the side of the building. On top of the building is a TV interview with a driver who has just finished his race in his Corvette which is being checked over by the scutineers as it seemed to go a bit too well!
Other additions include a working barrier where the cars enter and leave the track. This isn't finished and i realise that one post is too high, not sure what happened there? I want to glue some "safety" tyres to the barrier just incase anyone spins off into it! I also finished off the fencing around the first turn.
There is also a new army truck which fits into the scenery well, 2 new pit crews, Ferrari (NART) and Lotus. The Ferrari crew are busy looking after their new Ferrari 250 LM 64'. There is also a new Ford pickup and finally an old Hotrod which is osmething i bought "as is" a few years ago.

Hope you like what i have done, i'm hoping to do some more work very soon but it is still pretty cold in my dads barn where the track is.

Thanks,

Pete

Looking great Pete, the last two shots are super atmospheric. I love the little aditions to the secenery, the devil is in the detail! Agree with Mr Wisdom re the pickup. Spot on! The mobil tower is very resplendant, good job on that.

I've been planning to post an update of my track for a while as I've done a fair bit of work to it since the last one but I had no idea it had been 2 years to the day since the last post on this thread! I've added lots of small details and painted a lot more figures since the last post and this week I sorted the problem with my camera and took some new pictures today to show the work that has been completed. Some of the work includes detailing the pit buildings, adding some new fencing around the pits, adding an armco barrier before the flyover and more!

The general overview

New camera tower

Turn 1 + 2 SCCA racing action, with new Chevy Pace car in the background

Behind the pits

The pits

Thanks,

Pete
